What are you upgrading from and why?

htc m8

1. my screen is cracked
2. phone is getting really slow - tired of running cleaners...pure android & the extra 3GB ram sound really nice!
3. want the latest android - for security updates! (not sure if i would ever buy another non-nexus phone ever again)
4. want to be able to take better quality photos
5. shoot vid in 4k!
6. shoot vid in slow mo!
7. reversible micro USB - i can officially plug my phone in with my eyes closed.. well i kind of have been... i just will be able to do it way faster now.
8. finger print scanner is a good bonus

Coming from a Nexus 6.
Because I upgrade every year and won't buy anything that isn't a Nexus. The Nexus 6 was my first stock Android device and I can't go back to skinned.

Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk

Wait, wha....? If you upgrade every year and will only buy a Nexus how is the 6 your first stock Android? Did you miss out on the 7, 5, 4, Galaxy and S??

Or... after having the nexus 6 he will no longer buy anything that's not pure android.

Seems straight forward to me. I made the jump on the nexus 5 with no plans on looking back.

My beloved dinosaur, a Nexus 4, is finally buggy and quirky enough for me to have to move on. I can't upgrade every year, so when I do I want a solid performer. I do a lot of presentations where I have my outline/notes on my phone, so I wanted a phablet this time around. Thought real hard about going ahead and getting a Nexus 6. I have larger hands and playing with one owned by a friend didn't scare me off the size. I decided to go ahead and wait for the 6P (ordered on the 20th, but no delivery date yet so I suppose I'm essentially on the wait list.)

Reading all of the glowing reviews of the 6P convinced me that it was worth the wait for such a great phone. Seriously....has anyone read a review that is claims it is less than great? I'm hoping to have my new phone before Thanksgiving.

All that said, I'm going to slightly mourn putting my N4 out to pasture.

It's more like I'm upgrading from Verizon to Project Fi. Good coverage, but after that....crickets.

I've been sitting on my Project Fi invite since June waiting for the new Nexi. I didn't hesitate and ordered a 6P before the reviews came out. Coming from a 2015 Moto X, I'm gonna miss the Moto apps, but the camera on the 6P will make up for that.

Looking to upgrade from my S6 edge. Disappointing phone.

I'm really going nuts deciding whether to stick with my iPhone 6 for another year, or to sell it and get a 32GB 6P with the money.

I honestly like iOS a lot, but I love Android too, especially stock Google style. The 6P just seems like a lot of fun waiting to happen. ;)

Me too. I like both. I have a iPhone 6S+ getting delivered Monday. Can't wait to try out 3D touch and att wifi calling finally. That said I want to order a 64GB 6P as well. I see they are in stock on Huawei's store but I prefer to order from Google since Huawei is not shipping till late November anyway.

Spending my last week and half (until the 6p gets here) with my Nexus 5. I'm feeling kind of melancholy, kind of like I know I'm going to dump a girlfriend soon for another girl, but just haven't told her yet. The N5 is still zipping along nicely with Marshmallow.

Trying to convince my wife, who is rocking an original Moto G, to take my phone as it would be an upgrade in every way for her. The response was, "I don't want to learn a new phone." I don't even know where to begin with that. Like trying to explain pizza to a dolphin, just ain't gonna work.:p

I had a OG Moto X which worked fine until I dropped it for the 100 times so the screen stopped working. I'm currently using my wife's Moto G 2nd gen and I hate this phone lol. Saving up for the Nexus 6P for Xmas =)

I'll be leaving a droid turbo.
Reasons:
I want a larger screen.
I want to try out project fi
I'm tired of the slow OS updates from other phones.
I want the new technology in the 6p.

Going from Ascend Mate 2 to 6p to see how stock Android works for real. CM12 on HAM2 was buggy. Huawei makes good hardware and I like some of the software just not the launcher.
Also, signed up for project Fi to see if worth swapping my phone number over from AT&T.

Going from Note 3 to BB Priv. Never used the stylus as much as I thought, and I still hate typing on glass after all these years. Plus I want a cleaner Android experience.

Coming from a 2+ year old LG G2, which I loved for the first 18 months or so, until Verizon pushed out a crap version of Lollipop that basically broke the phone and destroyed my once amazing battery life. Now it's just a laggy POS that can't get me through half a day on a charge. Too bad, really, but am looking forward to a new toy. :)

I am still plugging away on my S3 (1545), which was still working nicely until lolipop killed my battery life. I have liked Sammys but with the good competition they are coming off a bit snobby. I like the stats on the Nexus 6P and the new Droid. I guess I have to decide which I like more, a fingerprint scanner or expandable memory.

Edge +, maybe... I ordered a 6P and I'm going to see if it will be replacing my Edge + because of battery life, or lack thereof with the Edge +.

Upgrading from a Note 4. I miss stock Android (Had a Nexus 5, but the battery wasn't sufficient because I lived in an area w/****ty coverage). I was okay with TouchWiz, but my phone has been laggy since the 5.0.1 update, and seeing Marshmallow is making me drool.

Also, this gives me a chance to get away from the carrier system for upgrading phones.

On a Nexus 5 right now, moving to a Nexus 6P. Disappointed that the 5X isn't getting top-notch specs and is larger than the current 5, it made more sense to just get the 6P.
