What are you upgrading from and why?

One plus one. I'm not patient so I will get the nexus 6p if it comes to koodo(carrier)

I have a Nexus 6. Google's services are top notch and stock Android is blazing fast. All but one of my friends have iPhones now, which gets really annoying with iMessage. But Apple's services are woefully inferior to Google's in my opinion. The N6 was my first Nexus phone and from a software perspective, I've enjoyed every minute of it. From a hardware perspective, the N6 has been a disappointment I will admit. I loved it for the first three months, but the phone is unwieldy. I don't have small hands and still find it pretty difficult to hold when taking photos; using in the car; or doing stuff on the go. Also the camera on the N6 is quite disappointing. The front-facing camera is grainy and almost unusable; the rear-facing camera is a non-starter in low light; and the constant readjusting and focusing required to get a good shot makes the camera's speed negligible.

Honestly, I was prepared to sit out this year, but I am very impressed by the 6P. Fingerprint-reading technology, a camera that addresses all of these issues, a better front-facing camera, and better battery performance are all on my list. And I mean, the 6P is gorgeous. I also love the Nexus brand and I want Google to continue evolving it, so I'm willing to give them my money. Nexus moves Android forward and makes Android better.

Upgrading from a Galaxy 6 edge. At the start it was all cool, but I don't think it fits me very well, I don't know... The main reason is: Stock Android.

I long wanted to try a nexus phone, and this years 6P looks great.

IMHO, that's reason enough to switch phones.

Got frost white 64gb on day one. Have Nexus 6 now. Love it but I upgrade every year. Can't wait.

I'm coming from my old Lumia 1020 to a 6P - I like a bit of change and finally google sussed out the mess that was permissions (not keen on giving flashlight apps access to my contacts). Also I've been on every other platform except android, so I'd like to say I gave everything a shot :P

Just requested a invite for Project Fi. I still have three months on contract with Verizon though, the early termination fee would be around $140. I'm really tempted to just go for it. I'm excited for the new Nexus and am so itching to cut ties with Verizon.

Pretty much same boat as me. Paying $145/month on VZW and tired of it. Got my Fi invite over the Summer and just waiting till I get my N6P early November :)
I started with Nexus 4 because I love pure vanilla Android. Didn't get N5 since I didn't see that much of an upgrade at the time. Was on TMobile at the time and switched to VZW for better signal/coverage and got the Moto X 2014 and now seeing the Moto X never getting Marshmellow, this was an absolute must for me. Like someone else said, I have gotten really accustomed to Moto's instant notification display, Moto features with driving/texting, but I think I'll live!
Can't wait!!!!

Moto X Classic (2013)...but I'm not upgrading, because everything is too big by comparison. Not willing to sacrifice all the comfort and convenience of one-handed use for that awkward compromise between phone and tablet - the phablet, the tablone, the phonablet, the tabloataphone. There have to be at least 100 different 5.5" slabs out there - is there really that much demand? Enough already! Someone provide an alternative for those of us that prefer a reasonably sized form factor. (And it has nothing to do with the size of our hands.) Moto G? Fine, fine, but that's midrange, and it is still .3" too big. 4.7" is perfect. Give us flagship quality in a 4.7" form factor, make it available on all carriers, and stand back...

Upgrading from a note4. Just ready to get back on stock android. The 6 was just too big.

Upgrading from an LG G4. At first I thought I'd be able to cope with a non-stock phone (I had a Nexus 5 before), but after a while all the problems with the phone cropped up. Heating up quickly, poor battery, sluggish overall performance....

Apart from the stunning camera, the LG G4 simply is not for me. I really really dislike the design. My favourite phone, and phone designs ever, are the Nexus 5 and the iPhone 4 (at the time).... I like minimal and industrial looking phones with silky smooth performance. My Nexus 5 still performs better than my G4 overall.

I haven't picked up my new Nexus yet, as I'm trying to decide on either 5X or 6P. Suggestions welcome!

I'm upgrading from a Galaxy S5, and before that I had an iphone 5c (I've always had android but I wanted to see what the fuss was about). I actually much prefer my S5 over the 5c. Frankly, there is nothing wrong with my Galaxy, but after getting a Nexus 9, I realized I MUCH prefer a stock android experience. I was going to wait a year before getting a new phone, but when I saw the design of the 6P, I couldn't help myself. Plus, my dad has a super old crappy flip phone, and has been alluding to wanting a smart phone. So I rationalized to myself how much getting a Nexus 6p was a win win for me and my papa. I will say, that I'm really going to miss ultra power saving mode and privacy mode on my GS5, BUT I'll live.:)

Replacing my iPhone 6 and retiring my Nexus 5. I had to use two phones for work for a while which I dont anymore. Selling the iPhone and getting the 6P as my main phone.

iPhone 5s. I've been on iOS since 2011. I've got my pics on Google Photos, updated Google Calendar. And backed up contacts on a few apps to be safe. I'm on Verizon so I hope I can just switch the nano sim and roll with it. Tired of iOS and can't wait for stock Android!

Moving to a Nexus 6p 128gb graphite from a Samsung Note 3. I hate TouchWiz with a passion. Thought i could live with it using Nova Launcher. It helped but still had to deal with Samsung crappy dialer with no way of using a different dialer.

Went from S6 edge to S6 edge plus. Why ? Because I got bored with a phone that worked perfectly and wanted one with issues :( Why oh why do we do these things lol

Ordered 32GB N6P last night in Aluminum (about the only config that was available).

Coming from a Moto X 2014. Lost Moto Voice a few weeks back and it won't let me record it again (keeps saying it's too loud even when I'm standing inside a closet without an iota of noise going on). Never could use the speaker for calls (they can't hear me but I can hear them). Not able to send or receive picture messages.

Kicker was when I found out no more updates for it.

I do still have until Dec 16 on my Verizon contract but I assume if I just swap out the NanoSIM that my contract is still valid. Got my invite for Project FI this week but will have to wait until next December when my contract is done with Verizon. I'm a bit nervous about that because my area in central PA doesn't get great Sprint or T-Mobile service. But I'm so ready to tell Verizon that I'm done with them. Wish I could do the same to Comcast.

Coming from a Nexus 6.
Because I upgrade every year and won't buy anything that isn't a Nexus. The Nexus 6 was my first stock Android device and I can't go back to skinned.

Agreed. Skinned phones feel like they're a different OS entirely.
