What are your favorite cases for the Galaxy S6?

No scratches on my back glass (or front) ... I have been running slim cases from the start ... and no screen protector at all ... and my phone still looks brand new.

Received my rhino shield. Love this bumper case. Using it with a zagg glass front and skinomi back protector (only because it was what I had handy, plan to get a different 1 soon). Also black port covers. And no there isn't a halo on the zagg glass it's just a glare.

Nice, where did you get the port covers from? My port covers are odd shaped and I like yours better. :p

Amazon a company called NGT I think they have them in numerous colors. I felt like the black would tie in well with the black speaker grill built into the case.

Thanks. What's your favorite case?

I'm a minimalist when it comes to cases. My everyday case is an extra-slim rubberized case ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4467719 ) ... and I love it. Let's the phone lay flat on the back, and doesn't have a lip on the top/bottom (so it doesn't dig into your ear when you use the phone) ... and it's grippy and protects the phone just well enough to avoid "usage damage".

If I feel l need a little more protection, I change out to my slim-fit TPU case ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4467719 ) ... that wraps the phone completely and offers more than enough "drop protection" if I need it.

Otterbox Symmetry in "Gridlock" :p I can not recommend this case, the back is slick as snot and it's very hard to get the phone out of the case.

So the gridlock is only appearance and doesn't add grip? I was hoping it would, I have the plain black and found it to be kinda slippery as well.

Correct, it's smooth and slippery, no texture at all. :(
Does the plain Black Symmetry have some texture to it?

The first case looks great....when u say "let's the phone lay flat on the back" you mean it protects the camera? If been through 4 cases trying to find the right combo of slim, non slippery and protects the camera. Is this the one???

Above was meant for wiggum333...sorry, need coffee

The first one ... the black rubberized plastic one ... if you're asking about that one, here's what I can tell you. From the best of my ability to figure this out, the case itself is actually a HAIR ... and I mean the thinnest hair you can think of - thinner than the thickness of the camera bezel. So technically, no, it does not "fully" protect the camera bezel from touching the table top or whatever you lay the phone on.

HOWEVER ...

I have been running that case full time for the last month ... I almost always lay my phone face up ... and to date, there is ZERO damage, marring, scuffing, anything on the camera bezel. The phone lays flat, does not wobble in any way, etc.

I love this case more than any other I've had. It's as thin as you could want it to be, and is totally unobtrusive to the phone or using the phone because there is no "lip" on the top and bottom of the phone, only on the sides. The side lips keep the face of the phone from touching the surface of whatever you lay the phone down on, but w/out the lips on top/bottom, when you hold the phone to your ear there is nothing there to "dig" into your ear - which is a must for me. It makes holding the phone to your ear like having no case on at all, which is a blessing if you ask me. It also has great grip (matte/satin finish), and I hardly notice it except for the fact that the sides of the phone are now black instead of the brushed metal because of how the case wraps the phone only on the sides.

Attempted to post reply with links, but I have 9 posts total and need 10. This should make 10, then I will post my actual reply. Kind of a silly rule but I understand why it exists.

I tried 8 or 10 cases for my S6, mostly focusing on slim ones. I despise Otterbox cases, so the "top 6 galaxy S6 cases" article was rather sad for me (2 Otterboxes on the list....really?). That motivated me to create this post.

Of the cases I've tried, these are my top 5:

  • Insignia Mesh - This case is only $15 at Best Buy, but it fits the bill. It's the exact slimness that I want and the mesh aspect of the case makes it extremely light-weight. It's not soft-touch plastic but it's not hard plastic either, somewhere in between. Grippy enough, especially with the mesh. One quibble I had with it: My camera lens stuck out slightly farther than the case, so I added a couple small pieces of electrical tape to the back of the case to raise it up a tiny bit - that did the trick. I don't want my camera lens to get scratched, yet somehow I already have 2 scratches on it.
  • BestBuy "platinum" cases, which have metal or wood backings to them. The metal ones defeated all 4 of my Qi chargers, so those were no good. I tried one of the wood ones but it was just too thick. Maybe it would have floated had I dropped the S6 in a lake, but I kind of doubt it, so I don't see a need for a thick chunk of wood to be glued to the back of a case (other than it gives good protection without being too heavy).

I got a transparent case off of Amazon as well. It was horrible because it looks bad where the plastic touches the glass on the phone. Plus, I realize I simply hate the look of clear cases on this phone (and any other shiny phone).

Don't get an Otterbox, people. Get a similar case for less than half the price, then get 2 more cases on top of that and still end up spending less. Unless you really REALLY plan on tossing your S6 around a lot...but why would you get an S6 if that was the case (nice pun huh)?
