I'm not saying I'm safer and/or more careful with my phone(s) than anyone else around here ... but what I AM saying is that I hate bulky cases ... and to me, "bulky" is anything other than a super-slim case that barely adds any size to the phone. I prefer to run no case at all, but with this S6 and the camera bump, I feel like I have to so that I can keep pressure/damage off the camera bezel. That's why I run either my "Terrapin Slim-Fit" TPU case, or my "Terrapin Extra-Slim-Fit Hybrid Rubberized Hard Case". Both are protective enough by far for me, but probably not for a lot of you. However, they are very minimal and do everything I want them to.
My biggest issue with most cases is something that's almost non-avoidable ... which is the "lip" that comes over the front side of the phone so that when you lay it face down, the screen is protected. The issue for me is that when I hold the phone to my ear, that lip seems to dig into my ear and bothers me. That's one of the things I love about the Extra-Slim-Fit case I have ... the raised edges are only on the sides of the phone, and top/bottom are "open" so that it's flat/flush, and there's no lip to rub/dig into my ear.
I have dropped phones before with cases like this, and for the most part these cases offer adequate protection - more than you'd think ... and my phones have never suffered any real damage from a drop when wearing a case of this style.
I hear/see a lot of people asking "Would your phone survive an 8-foot drop or more with that case?" ... but honestly, I don't think I've ever been in a situation where my phone would drop from a height of more than a few feet off the ground. It makes me wonder what some of you are doing that puts you in a situation where you're over 8 feet off the ground and are playing with your phone, and might end up dropping it onto some really hard surface that would cause damage to the phone.
