What are your favorite cases for the LG G4?

I had a Spigen on my G3 and what I really liked was the separation it had between the volume up and the camera lens. It allowed me to hit the buttons vs putting my fingers all over the lens. I like the looks of the wide open cases shown here but it was really nice having that sliver of case under the camera lens.

I got the Sparin offered in Amazon, my thoughts: very slim fit, nice feel, hard to get on and off, it does have a seam where it was injection molded or fused (not sure of the method) and the raised lip is pronounced. There is NO protection on the bottom or top. It'll probably be my daily driver until something else catches my eye.

I received the Spigen below yesterday, my thoughts:

Will give full protection, has a nice feel and will protect the phone from a drop. It adds 3/16" to 1/4" in width, make no mistake it makes this phone bigger...too big for me. The G4 is borderline too big for me as it is and this just puts it into another category. Not as big as one of those massive super protection cases though. Well engineered and finished...quality case for sure.

I'll probably keep it for some reason, maybe if I'm mountain biking or skiing or something but probably not, when my case is on I'm usually too lazy to change it out.

Just ordered this bumper case. Have no clue how nice it will be or if it will even fit the leather back, but at $5 with shipping I figured I would give it a shot. There was another one exactly the same but different name for $15, but you can clearly tell they are the same.

Amazon.com: Sandistore for LG G4 F500 Ultra Thin Aluminum Metal Bumper Frame Case (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories

Looks a lot thinner than the Niilkin one i had for my G3. Might have to grab one too for fun. Seems like it ships from China, waiting sucks lol

That's the case I'm planning on getting. A couple of questions:

How hard is it to take off/on (say to swap batteries)?

Do you use a glass screen protector?

I've had an S6 for a while but just ordered an unlocked G4 with brown leather. Should be here tomorrow. I have the S6 in a case because it feels very expensive, fragile, and slippery, like special care needs to be taken. But the G4 honestly felt pretty cheap when I played with it in store. That's both a good and a bad thing. Good because I probably won't feel the need to case it... I'll just run naked and replace the back if it gets dropped and scuffed. Bad because, well, it feels a bit low quality next to the S6.

Still not sure which phone I'll end up keeping, but there was so much indecision in reviews (some say the S6 is way better, some say the G4 is way better) that I finally decided that I'm just going to have to get both and compare them myself. This is turning out to be an expensive phone cycle because I already had to pay to return a couple S6s that had defects. Now I'll likely have to turn over one of these on Craigslist and lose some more money. Almost makes me miss the times when one Android phone clearly dominated all of the others.

Hi there, I actually got this case yesterday and have been very impressed so far.

I am slowly getting used to the color, its almost a dark silver.

Few points, the case will work with the leather back Verizon model, the BB model is NOT the NFC/ Wireless charging model, so you don't need to remove your back cover, this one fits right over the leather back cover, one positive aspect is that it adds just a little extra lip around the camera lens enough to protect it from scratches.

No bulk whatsoever, real nice case, its expensive but I had few Reward zone $$$ that helped me decide to buy it.

Love the G4 BTW, switched from a broken iphone 5 and will never look back, Verizon's black leather back is amazing.

It takes a bit of effort to get off, very snug fit. You could probably loosen it up at bit with a hair dryer/heat gun before you put it on the phone, but stock it's a bit snug. I'm demo'ing the H815 so it's not a daily driver, just a home jockey and it came with the stock film on it. A real screen protector might take up a little more room but even so I think the lip will be generous. I should get my VZ phone from the store this weekend and I'll install one of their screen protectors, I'll post feedback as soon as it happens.

I'm a thin case person and it doesn't get much thinner than this...my kind of case! I'll keep my eyes open for alternatives though before I settle on a permanent version. It's cheap however, I was just going to deep six it if I didn't like it, not sure if they lip will get on my nerves or not...I'll follow up on that when appropriate.

Thanks for the thorough answer, it's very appreciated.

Updated pictures after screen protector is installed and all is working.

I thought I was going to return this case but for some reason I am really liking it now, I am not a flip case fan, it started to fit nicely after a day on the phone. One con I found, if you try to take it off it removesthe leather back cover in two corners, I am thinking its just because its new and tight.

Here are few pictures in case someone considering it.

Thanks for the pics. It is interesting in that it doesn't replace the back as previous quick circle cases did. I guess that is good if you want to quickly remove it and use the leather back, but it seems as if that would add bulk over replacing the back.

Also was it the "violet black" color shown on the BB website?

Yes, believe it or not this is the violet black color, which is really like dark silver/gray color, its not bad in person, its growing on me.

This is the non NFC/ Wireless case that BB sells, it fits right over your back cover, there will be another Quick Circle case that is NFC and Wireless compatible coming out and that one you will have to remove the back cover for.

Bulk wise, I think it doesn't add that much, a big plus over the one you take you back cover off is that the camera lens is protected.

My only complain is its pricey,

I assume that version replaces the actual back of the phone?

May I ask where you purchased it?

Thanks

Hi check out "mobile fun", sorry can't post link because i am new here, but they have it for $38, you can use SHIP4FREE for free shipping

How do you think this will do for drop protection?

If you mean the circle case, NO, not much protection from drops imao, this case is just for scratches (specially to camera lens) , light falls and so on, I don't feel very safe carrying my phone in it, i feel i always have to pay attention to whats going on, also also keep in mind those flip cases are cumbersome (at least for me) don't like that cover.

Gotcha...I picked one up at Best Buy but it said that it wasn't compatible with the genuine leather, but i got it anyhow, since it fit on yours. I also picked up an Otterbox Commuter to try out since it also said it wasn't compatible and lo and behold it fits just fine...not sure why, but I'm happy to have the protection....
