What are YOUR impressions of the Pixel 3/3 XL?

Complaining about the notch here is a lot cheaper than addressing their real problems with a therapist.

I like the notch just because it has the 2 camera in there looks awesome , if I could get those camera to blink red few times would make my day .. I want it to look mean

Well finally got a chance to see the Pixels in person. Had to go to two BBs to find them. First one had the display but no phones, only the stand.
Second store had the tiniest display for them. Just a front section of a row. Two phones and that's it, no stand.
The new screen looked amazing, Galaxy quality for sure. They main thing I noticed is how great they feel in the hand. Very much more premium feel than the previous pixel. I had my Pixel 2XL on me and held it up to the Pixel 3 XL. Same size except the screen comes up the corners because of notch...
And let me just say...woah what a notch. It's big and ugly. It extends so far down... And it looks so funny how you can tell where the cameras are and the rest is just black useless space. I went over to look at the LG V40, and that's how you do a notch.
I'm still undecided which Pixel 3 to get. There regular one is so nice, but I'm wondering if I'll miss the big screen of the XL. I recommended if you guys and gals are getting the Pixel 3, go to your BB or Verizon store and see them in person.

Had to add another note, I'm kinda saddened by what I saw. It's Sunday, so BB was packed, especially the phone section. But no one paid any attention to the little Pixel section. I was there for maybe 15 minutes and no one came by. As I was holding the Pixel, I heard a couple come up behind me. The guy quickly pulled the girl to the side and said " no not those, those aren't the Galaxy's." Made me realize that Google has a long way to go in this market.

Don't forget, DarkNeo, that there is an option on the Pixel 3 XL to make the screen look EXACTLY like your Pixel 2 XL screen! The notch will now be totally gone and you will now be using an El Primo screen that is second to none in quality! And of course you will also be using the best cell phone camera available!

Very good point. If Google makes it possible to have the notch area blocked out but have notifications on the corners...I really like the look of that.

I'm amazed that the reason for the notch seems to escape everyone and they're simply fixated on the notch itself. Think about it. The entire reason for the notch is to move what is ordinarily the top line of your screen up to both sides of the notch. And now you have more screen area to use, and believe me, it does make a big difference. Your usable screen area increases quite noticeably. I'm betting that when I get my Pixel 3 XL and experiment using it with and without the notch, that I'll prefer the notch as I'll have more screen area to use.

As I've posted in other threads, there's an app called Nacho Notch that I found out about on an XDA article. While Google's official fix moves the notification bar below the notch, Nacho Notch simply blacks out the areas on either side of the notch, BUT it leaves the notifications where they currently are. So in essence it hides the notch but doesn't take away any usable portion of the screen, similar to the photo DarkNeo posted. Best of both worlds.

Yes, I installed Nacho Notch from the Google Play Store when I first heard about it! It's sitting there ready to go if Google doesn't do it first.

Why can't Google just implement this simple solution right into the software?

I'm looking forward to trying the 2 options - I like options.

I will probably enable the bottom notch too... just so I can experience all the notch glory...LOL

JK, I will probably use the App until Google gives us the option.
