What can interfere with Knock On?

I have a G2 that the Knock Knock feature works really well for Knock On but the G pad's Knock On doesn't respond 50% of the time. What can I look for as a possible interference?

I've tried the 3 Knock technique, also the first tap, hesitate, then two taps. Knock Off works everytime.

I wish I knew. I thought I was just "knocking" too fast.

I booted into Safe Mode but I'm still getting the same response, er, non-response to knocking. It seems to more readily work when the screen times out but when it has been off awhile, like in deep sleep, it doesn't want to wake up. I'm not using a lock screen, either.

Oddly enough, I have been able to make it wake with a "knock knockknockknock knock" , for which my wife makes great fun of me for. It will always sleep with a simple double knock to the status bar.

Not sure if this helps but I have a AOSP ROM on mine so I don't have the Knock Knock feature. But it's no biggie because I just downloaded this app: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...om.katecca.screenofflock&hl=en&token=4p6yM3T2
I already use Nova Launcher for all of my devices, so I use the Double Tap gesture to trigger this app to turn off screen or turn it on. It works like a champ. Also, it can be used on other non LG devices like my HTC One.

I think it's just the size of the screen maybe, works pretty damn good on my G2 but trying to use it on the G Pad drives me crazy so I use knock off and power button to turn it on.

I've been consistently knocking in the center of the screen now for the last month and it is nearly 100% effective. Thanks.
