Both the wife and I had Storm1's and then Storm2's. Now we are sporting the Droid X's. I love it. The wife has a slight problem we are trying to fix with her exchange mail for work. It looks like we might have to try Touchdown to get it working. Other than that we love them.

BB Storm

Storm 1, then 2. I have no major complaints about the Storm except the browser. Never had lockups or anything like some others have seen. But this X is amazing... Can't wait for mine to get here.

I came from a storm2... Trust me you will have no regrets

Yep, you guessed it. Storm 1. What a POS. Potential unachieved. I learned more than I ever wanted about smartphones on Crackberry.com. I was on those forums way more than I cared trying to find an OS build (official, leaked, or hybrid) to make that phone serviceable. I lost count of the OS builds I've loaded on the Storm 1 since Nov. 2008 (somewhere north of 15). I finally quit after v5.0.0.328 and have just been waiting patiently for my upgrade. I can do a battery pull on my Storm in my sleep. Its bad when you do a battery pull while talking to someone, then continue your conversation, and have them ask why you took the battery out and its become such habit you don't even realize you just did it. The Verizon sales rep at the store just laughed when she saw my Storm 1 and said "Yes, you're going to love your new Droid X." So long RIM and BlackBerry and hello Android and Droid X.

I came from a BlackBerry 9650. Since Mar 2009, I've tried all the latest BBs (Storm 1, Tour, Storm 2 and Bold 9650). I loved the Tour and Bold, but the screen size eventually got to me. My only complaint with the DroidX is its size. Everything else is perfect and well integrated. Love this phone.

You know, I actually generally like the Storm, although it did certainly start running into major walls the last year due to hardware limitations. Anyways, That's really funny, because I went into a Madison area VZ store on launch day and the rep who sold me mine also laughed when she saw me pull out my phone and said "Ah, you're going to be replacing your Storm" with a very "knowing" smile.

I'm guessing there isn't a lot of love-loss between RIM and VZ right now, even if they are working on future products together.

Had a BB Storm1, switched to a Palm Pre Plus back in March and I just ordered the Droid X - I'm waiting (im)patiently for it to come (Sep 7).

Storm 1

Funny thing is, my last phone before the Storm 1 was a Motorola and I swore I'd never buy another Moto again. Yet here I am.

The limitations of the Storm 1 became evident and the more months passed, the worse the phone looked. It was my first smart phone and I will always think highly of it but RIM really screwed the launch of S1 badly.

As for the love lost, I guess RIM is no longer the darling of VZ...
