What do you not like about the Bionic?

The minus I see are
* Pentile Screen
* Lack of Image Stabilization in Camera
* Screen get hot sometime, wierd.
* A tad heavy. For being something this thin, I would assume it be lighter.

WebTop OS, is a nice to have feature. Not required. A good marketing feature. I wouldn't say it is the selling point though.

What I am puzzle with is iPhone (i guess due to it being iPod original) has much better sound. It has standard eq and output much better sound quality. My Original Droid, Fascinate, and even Bionic lack that in a way. Hate to having to install 3rd party player when I don't need to. iPhone works great out of the box this way.

"Lack of Image Stabilization in Camera"

What phone has Optical Stabilization? I think there was something about Panasonic..

Anyways, Electronic Stabilization is crap.

Not a big deal to have 3rd party players/apps.. I think that is a plus to have unrestricted app options though I'm biased since I develop.

Someone on this forum turned me on to Launcher Pro, which helps customize your screens but more importantly, you can easily create a folder within your apps pages and dump all of the useless bloatware icons into one folder (I aptly named "VZW junk"). Granted the software is still on your computer but at least you don't have to look at that pathetic Blockbuster icon every time you try to access your apps!

Yeah, I've run Launcher Pro on all my Droid phones, it rocks! I even bought the paid because I liked out so much. It doesn't really offer much over the free one, but that guy earned my $.99!

The paid app includes resizable widgets, scrolling widgets (for Pure Messenger, Agenda Plus, and others), and access to the Launcher Pro widgets. The friends app, which combines Facebook and Twitter, is worth the price by itself.

Ok, read every page but if I missed them here are mine:

1) I hate the bloatware! Why can't we get rid of it?
2) I use mine in the dock as an alarm clock. Way to bright. On my OG Droid I actually had one with the last iteration of software that was very dim. I want that again! Have looked in the market, but haven't found anything - yet.

Other than that I am loving it.

You have to get Gentle Alarm. Its the best alarm app in the market IMO. It let's you control the brightness while its in the dock too

1) The screen is noticeably inferior to my Incredible. When the same high quality photo is viewed side by side on the Incredible and Bionic there is absolutely no comparison. Even the Verizon rep admitted that there is a shocking difference. The "screen door" pentile effects were tolerable, but the poor display of colors was quite disappointing.

2) the high pitched whine/hum when outputting audio via the 3.5mm jack(headphones and aux input in car) was the deal-killer for me. my Incredible has no such issues at all.

3) bottom line: compared to my Incredible there is significant degradation in both display and audio quality.

I only get the high pitch whine when it is plugged into the charger in my car. I plugged the charger into my portable jump box, which had a 12v lighter plug and there was no noise. This means that Moto didn't block the EM noise from your cars electrical system. To bad too.

Camera. It's descent, but it could be better.
Not as good as some of the cameras on other high end phones.

What's your definition of 'hasn't been great'? How long has it been lasting and how much are you using it?

Here's one scenario that troubles me that just happened this morning.

I wake up at 5:30AM to go to the gym. I take the phone off the charger immediately.

I get back from the gym around 7:30AM.

So, other than clearing out the notifications I received overnight while I slept, the phone hasn't been used at all.

When I wake the phone's screen at around 7:30AM, there is 70% battery life left. 30% gone with virtually no usage over 2 hours. I click on battery stats and it's been off charger for 1hour49min, top 3 power usage is coming from Cell Standby, Phone Idle and Social Location (?).

For me that is definitely not good enough. I have to figure out if this is an issue because of the 4G radio constantly searching, me swapping out batteries after each cycle or what.

Turn off social location.

So disappointed...

I have been to the Verizon store twice and Costco once since Thursday to play with the Bionic. I can't believe that they missed the mark so badly after having sooooo much time to reconfigure this device. Its bigger than it should be and much too Droid X for me. The screen was painful to look at beside my Galaxy Tab 10.1!

And with so many users reporting the audio output hiss I decided to pass. I use my phone A LOT to stream music to my home and car stereo, so any unnecessary audible distortion is totally unacceptable.

Guess I will be sticking with my trusty Droid Pro for at least another month... blah.....

Vigor or Prime for me if the iPhone 5 lacks LTE.

Re: So disappointed...

You compared a galaxy tab to bionic?...you should compare apples vs apples not mangos to tangerines bud..Samsung hairs nice screens..hardware is a bit under par with other phones and tablet makers IMO

I have no issues with mine. No audio hiss, just used jack yesterday listening at a loud level. Screen works great in sunlight, just have mine on auto-brightness. I have no signal issues, lockips, freezes, or really any slowdown at all. I upgraded from my DX. This thing rips through streams and vodeos as well, I can load up twitch.tv and stream no problem. I love this phone. Also, call quality is great.

Re: So disappointed...

That's funny; every time I see a new thread pop up when there are 20 other relevant threads that already existed on the topic, I'm similarly disappointed.

Re: So disappointed...

I think looking at one in the store Vs using one for a few hours/days is a big difference. Can't say I blame you for waiting for something else because I am doing the same. But so no reason to bash if you really haven't used the phone other then looking at it in the store.

I have no audio hiss with mine and I use the headphone jack every day. Everything is great about this phone for me other than battery life and disappearing apps.

+1. No issues. Great phone.

Phone is great so far. Snappy response with lte is just awesome. The pentile pixelation is only really noticeable during videos even then doesn't bother me. Visibility in the sun is superb.

I do have to say that is one of the big things I like about this phone!
