What do you NOT like about your Nexus 5X?

aka - what would you change?

Owners only please.

Headphone jack placement

Don't like it being on the bottom right it also does need a bit of force to get it locked in

- When on calls the speaker squeaks(tinny noise) at higher volume levels
- Volume buttons in the middle - have to adjust one handed holding position to turn volume down.
- Not that comfortable to hold one handed, feels like I definitely need a case for better grip and comfort (previously nexus 4 user without a case so it might be just getting used to the larger size)
- Fingerprint scanner slightly different colour white (perhaps even cream) to rest of the white back.

Lack of Qi Charging.. I've only had it a day and its driving me mad. Wireless Charging is no longer a nicity for me. Its a requirement. Im not sure what im going to do about this yet but its driving me mad.

The speaker (earpiece) isnt great quality.. Calls dont sound as good as they did on the nexus 4. Its dissapointing.

The cameras both have weird rotation problems in everything bar the Google app.. (In the zxing Barcode scanner everything is upside down and backwards for example).. MS Hyperlapse records upside down. Third party camera apps also have the video upside down.

USB-C.. Its too big, and pointless. It brings nothing to this phone. Id rather have had micro-usb to use all the existing cables and accessories. On the 5X USB-C brings ZERO benefit.

The charger is white on the Carbon phones. Why I have no idea.

The battery, wish it would have bigger capacity. I wouldn't mind if it add more thickness or weight to the phone.

I'm not crazy about the color quality of the display particularly with regard to white. I noticed during set up that whites are what i'm calling "parchment paper" whites, not a clean crisp bright white. The difference really stands out next to my N5 and N9.

The speaker is terrible and the plastic build just feels cheap. Companies really need to look at the first gen Moto X as an example of how to make a plastic phone feel premium. Oh and Ambient Display is a mess, it never works when you think it should, honestly Google if you can't figure that out then at least bring back double tap to wake.

It's really interesting, because I've observed people with wireless chargers and how they behave. Some of them love keeping their devices really full, and are uncomfortable with their device sitting without charging. I have a couple of Qi chargers myself (nexus 5) and I don' t always put my phone on the charger unless it needs to be put on the charger.

If I have to charge my phone daily on a cable, i don't mind. I don't mind even connecting it for 20 minutes while i shower or something.

Is your phone literally running out of battery because you don't have wireless charging?

I am coming from a Nexus 5 which was (and still is) my favorite phone of all time. The things I don't like about the 5X are...

1. The haptic feedback on the keyboard makes a high-pitched buzzing sound instead of a nice, subtle vibration;
2. The Nexus logo on the back of the phone is just painted and looks cheap compared to the nice engraved logo on the 5;
3. The screen is ever so slightly warmer (in color) on the left side;
4. I actually prefer only four icons per row on the home screen as opposed to the five found on the 5X.

The 5X is a very nice phone, but other than the camera and the fingerprint sensor, I still prefer my good old Nexus 5...

In my case yes.. I had to charge at 2.50pm today.. On my old phone I never have to think about charging.. I just drop it on its qi on my desk while at work.

I'll get used to it, but it's a huge pain.

It would be less of a problem if the phone could be used while charging, but the touch screen doesn't work properly whilst connected.

Got mine today, a few issues so far. While streming Tunein radio with headphones in, I was unable to turn the screen back on by either using the power or finger print scanner. The speaker quality is almost unusuable as the volume is way too low on high. This is either using just the speaker or with the headphones.

The camera also takes way too long to process the photo after you take it. I know its just the first day but the battery drained from 100 to 14 percent in just a few hours of streaming Tunein. Screen on time was just barely over an hour. Hopefully it gets better in next few days.

Twenty-four hours later I have no complaints about the handset. I wish it came with a longer charging cable and an adapter to connect to a PC.

[Edit: Not a Nexus 5X issue per say, but I wish there were a way to change the emojis without rooting the phone]

I like this phone much more than I thought I would. As soon as I opened the box I realized how much I loved my Nexus 5. It was like coming home.

The only thing I don't like is the lack of Qi charging but it's not a big deal

Yeah I also chose the 5X for the nostalgia to the original. If it runs just as good I'll be happy.
