What do you NOT like about your Nexus 5X?

I'm not sure what the deal is with the Redbox app, but I've become used to just using their web site as the app didn't work with my last phone (a Nexus 6) either.

No issues with Amazon Prime Music here.

Maybe it's just a Nexus thing then. I use the website now also, no big deal.

There's something odd about how they're listing compatibility. I have a Nexus 5 and a 5X, both running Marshmallow. According to the web version of the Play Store, the Redbox app is compatible with my N5, but not my 5X.

Now that your mention it, I do remember using the Redbox app on my N5, just no go on N6 or N5x. I'll have to check if the 6p has this issue as well 😕 .

EDIT / UPDATE: A friend with a 6p just confirmed that they can, indeed, install the Redbox app from the Play store (that 6p is still on 6.0... Hasn't upgraded to 6.0.1 yet).

i love my nexus 5x i just wish there was a 64gb storage option i like the smaller size and one handed use over the 6p even though the 6p build is far better i like a smaller phone.

Disappointed:
Battery life could be better (using iPhone 6S for comparison)
Doesn't feel as "smooth" while navigating compared 6S

Slightly disappointed:
Speakers are kinda weak
Want slimmer top/bottom bezels to reduce footprint of the phone (I'm looking at you too iPhone !!)

Interesting many mention battery life. Coming from an old Moto X and briefly the Samsung S6, I'm very happy with the battery.

Lack of Qi and poor placement of the headphone jack are annoyances.

The fact that the only native email app is Gmail and it won't work properly with Office365 is a problem for me... had to fork out $10 for Nine

Still, it is a great phone!

Your iPhone has better battery life?

I just got this phone and the headphone jack placement is super annoying. I do a ton of walking around the city, and pretty much keep my headphones in 24/7.

  1. Battery Size / Life
  2. No Qi Charging (Stupid)
  3. Bezels I'm so-so about. I do like the fact that I have some room to place my fingers around the screen, but a larger screen would be good.

None of the above is making me look for another phone. I do wish they'd put out a battery case for it so I could get through the entire day without plugging it in.

If you've never had an iPhone, just know that yes, the battery last longer than any Android phone. I've moved back and forth between iPhones and Android phones for years and can attest to this fact. Android fan boys will be very upset at that statement of fact, but it is a fact. One that I've tested over and over again.

(Let the bashing begin.)

Update:
Here's my current work cellphone (iPhone 6S Plus). Granted, it's only for work, so I don't have anything on it other than work emails, a running app I use and SiriusXM. I make a few calls, send a few emails, and a few texts. So, very low usage. Look at the standby time. I'm on day 8 off the charger:

Things that I don't like about the Nexus 5X
1. No qi charging
2. Thick bottom and top bezels
3. Build quality feels cheap , feels like my old Lumia 640 in comparison.

I don't like the build quality of the screen, i dropped it once and more than 50% of the screen is cracked, another time dropped it less than 2 feet and the sim card holder fell out of the phone!

You mention the build feeling like a lumia 640, which is one thing I love. I don't like metal body phones.

For bezels, if you really want to complain, pick up an a9.

The head phone jack is probably the one gripe I have, but it's not that bad.

Drop any phone and the likelihood of the screen cracking is high. This is not a unique Nexus 5X feature.

Stop dropping your phone or buy an extended warranty.

I just bought a 5x today becuase my 6p is huge and I feel like I am less accurate when I type. The thing is becuase of giant top and bottom bezels the 5x is not that much smaller. I was hoping for a N5 type phone.

While playing with the phone today I noticed several issues of lag that I have not run into on my 6p, same chrome tabs and apps opened in the same sequence- when hitting the last app(Facebook) the 5x basically froze for about four seconds while the 6p opened it like it was the only app going.

I'll play around for the next few days trying it out but this phone is a disappointment and will be going back to the store. I'll have to deal with the giant 6p until the next Nexus release

Really? Wait... did you just complain about dropping your phone and the screen cracking? Really? Have you seen the S7? Drop that from 1' and see what happens.
