What does Slate back color really look like?

I came across someone selling a slate back on Swappa, and here's what the picture of it looked like.View attachment 153053

That would have a white front too. You can tell by the metal frame is silver. Black fronts have a darker frame.

Yup, you can also tell by the Moto dimple on the back. The white fronts have a lighter color dimple and the black fronts have a darker one.

Didn't know about the dimple part. Looking at mine is is darker.

Oh really? I was just going off of the moto maker. Or maybe it has to do with the accent color?

It is amazing how lighting really affects how the slate back looks. This last picture looks way darker then mine.

A friend just sent me a pic of her new slate back phone.

In person, light gray-blue. In pictures, it looks different. Here's two, taken in different rooms:





It's definitely closer to the lighter color in person.

Those look like two different phones. Cognac leather has the same photo issue - it can look anywhere from light orange to dark brown depending on the lighting.

I decided to try one more time while laying in bed with the window behind me. This time I got a really close comparison picture to how it looks in person. Maybe a tad bit bluer in the picture than real life, but the slate color does have a lot of blue in it in person.
