What does the 1x, 3G, 4G disappear?

I know this sounds strange, but I was able to resolve the issue by doing a factory reset from the SD card menu. Even after performing a factory reset from the bootloader, the problem persisted. For some reason, the SD card menu reset actually worked. Give it a shot!
What is a "SD card menu" reset? And a "bootloader" reset? Is any one of these the Factory Reset on the TBolts menu system?

FWIW I just got off the phone with tech support and they said a factory reset should now fix this issue. Something about the radio resetting on the network which makes no sense to me (I am a software engineer that does embedded hardware including low level two-way communications devices). The only thing I can think of is some setting in the phone that occurs once on the original boot, but what a terrible design decision that would be. I opted to wait since I am still at work, but I will give it a shot I suppose...

Yep, this works. Don't do the factory reset. Just change networks. I now go from WiFi to 4G to 3G like a champ. (Where there is service obviously)
