I switched carrier networks from Verizon to AT&T, popped my new AT&T SIM card into my SM-G900V Galaxy 5s that I had previously used on the Verizon network. I am able to send/receive regular texts and calls. But cannot send or receive pictures or MMS messages. Not sure if I didnt correctly put the AT&T network information. I keep seeing threads about rooting😯, whatever that means but I'm totally confused on what that even means or does. When I power it on from the off position it still brings up the Verizon logo while loading, can I change that to AT&T? How about get rid of the stock bull**it apps verizon put on here👎? They're all useless considering I'm now using AT&T SIM, but on a Verizon phone. Any info would be greatly appreciated! When I first powered my galaxy on it showed 4G for my Internet, but now all of a sudden after 2 days it shows this H icon 😕. I do get the Internet with and without wifi being on. What am I doing WRONG?? Thanks for reading, hope someone had a solution to my issues. Thanks in advance!! ✌✌

The, "H", stands for High Speed Packet Access, (HSPA), and is a network protocol for 3G, (sometimes called 3G+ or faux 4G), as explained in...

High Speed Packet Access

The fact that you have changed your sim card from Verizon to AT&T does not alter your phone's Verizon firmware with its built-in carrier bloatware and so you will still see all the same Verizon stuff associated with your model of phone, the G900V. However, because Verizon's firmware is not issued by Samsung, see #1.6 of 41 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide, you will not receive further updates for your phone as you are no longer connected to the Verizon network.

Check with AT&T that you have the correct APN settings installed for sending and receiving MMS as these are sometimes separate from the normal APN settings

As for rooting, if you are running the latest Verizon firmware, this is no longer an option. See, Verizon's new OE1 & OG5 updates prevent downgrading or rooting

In case you are wondering, you cannot flash the AT&T firmware to your Verizon phone as the Verizon, G900V, is primarily a CDMA model and the AT&T, G900A, is a GSM model. See, CDMA vs. GSM: What's the Difference?
