what is Android Media Process and how do you keep it from torturing your battery to death?

Nice, if the screen is on, it's losing power no matter what.

I was just sitting here with no WiFi on, plugged in and "charging", and it still went from 32% to 30%.

You can be charging and still not be able to keep up with the power use on your N7. My charger only charges at about 20% of battery capacity per hour. With a bright screen and considerable activity in the system that may not be fast enough to increase battery charge. The N7 battery has a nominal capacity of 4325 milliamp-hours. Thus 20% of this in an hour is about a 0.85 ampere charge rate. Why it wont charge faster with a 1.8 to 2.0 amp charger I don't know but I have used both the furnished Asus charger and an HP Touchpad charger with the same result. You can use Battery Graph and Gauge Battery Monitor to help understand battery use rates and charging.

B diddy, haven't clicked the video yet, but that could be it. I might just blame it on a bad micro USB connector, but even with no charging and no Wi-Fi it loses energy at a rate that would be shocking if using Wi-Fi and no charger.

Watch dog says this android media process "service"..."this app cannot be launched"

Under my nexus "settings" "apps", there are two things I'm unsure about.

One is "media"at 14 mb, with one process and one service. The service is "media scanner service", stated by the media app.

The process is android.process.media at 14 mb.

Media has to do with downloading stuff from the Internet and for you I'm guessing its the updates that are being pushed onto your phone. Your problem will exist every time you restart, until you update your software!
