I think I win, at least on this thread so far (age wise that is)! I'm 67 and have been involved in the tech field for over 40 years. Was on the team that developed the metallic oxide disks that are now used in hard drives (they used to be thick nickel cadmium drives). Involved in developing new disk systems for a number of old, and now non existent, companies like Data General, NEC, CDC, Lear-Siegler and others.
Started my own BBS which went online in August of 1982 and was a big name for some years with callers from all over the world. That's because it was a pirate BBS with a huge database of free downloads. Gave that up because a number of my friends had gone into software writing and I realized that real people wrote this stuff and I had no right to give away someone elses work and livelihood.
Still have lots of friends in the tech business, some active and some retired and some with names known by any 15 year old techie.
The tech field has been good to me and it was a business that was more like playing in a candy shop than working. I loved every minute of it.
