What is the best Rom out currently?

6 updates a week... ill wait

Lol.. to be fair, they have not been must wipe updates (except for when the source was updated from b26 to b27)... all the intermittent "make faster" updates have only required you to wipe cache and dalvik and format /system, no data wipe necessary.

It really is a beast of a ROM.. I mean all credit to roman and team kang for the ROM really.. but DT's speed tweaks have made it INSANELY quick, no lie. I'd give it a try: | AOKP | B27 | AXI0M | KANG | 4.0.3 | 3/03/2012 - RootzWiki

Even got me to leave codename, lol.

Best color car, best candy bar, best restaurant, a$$/legs/boobs...

Only you can answer this. Most all the ROMs are great. Codename is my favorite because it's the one I've been using, but I have no doubt that a dozen others are just as good.

I've had my GN for about 2 weeks and I've used codename 1.4 and AOKP #25 and their both about equal...stable and tons of customization

Give liquid rom a try. By far it's the smoothest rom I've flashed. I tried android evolution, codename, aokp, and now I've settle with liquid.

Codename is next up on my "to try list," along with Axiom.

Tried:

AOKP (M3/Build 27)
CM9 (winner00's Kang, official nightlies)
BAMF (1.0)

Favorite? B27 or the Nightlies. Both ran smooth, with the former being crazily customizable.

Worst? BAMF. The Boot Animation (+ audio) was both laggy and kind of tacky, and its toggle system was needlessly complex and inefficient. Past that, decent rom. Add Nova + different toggle system and it'd be better, but hey, those features make it what it is.

Best rom currently is axiom crossbreed.

+1

Personal preference, but I am loving it. I loved aokp and all its features. Now I get all the features of aokp but on the 4.0.4 leak and droidth3ory's speed scripts

If only all ROMs were this fast

OK a new day. Which rom is the best today?

The way these roms are dropping there is a new best one every day.

Looks like a team sourcery rom is on the horizon....will keep an eye out.

Just flashed Crossbreed and I have to say its pretty fast. The best rom is what ever I'm running and that changes a few times a week. ;)

I asked this question in another thread, but didn't really get a definitive answer, and while I was searching for the best ROMs (from other's trials and errors), it occurred to me that my answer is within this particular thread. I've only had the Nexus for two days, and while I have rooted my KindleFire, I haven't really dove into the phone rooting, until now. My question was whether more than one ROM can be used at a time, or if it's one at a time deal, which is what I gathered here. So if you want a ROM that utilizes different features, and also has particular visuals like different icons, you have to find one ROM which contains exactly that, or develop one yourself. Is that pretty much correct?

Uhh now there is a crossbreed V2. Haha time to flash!

Yeah basically. In general, you flash one rom at a time, and you would select it based on what you want in the rom - lots of features, less features/leaner, maybe the rom is themed already, etc.

There is an app called bootmanager - that will allow you to save different roms on partitions - so you could have up to 4 (i think) - but you can only be using one at a time.

As for icons and themes and all that - those are separate, but they may or may not be included in a rom. you can flash themes in clockwork mod recovery the same as you would a rom, and icons can be manually added (if you use nova) or flashed with the use of other apps.

(as a postscript - when you start flashing roms etc you should read CyberWarriors sticky in this subforum - that will break it all down for you step by step - highly recommended)
