What is the easiest way to root the new gingerbread (OTA version)

Hey all,

I got my gingerbread update from the over the air service about a week ago. I want my root back

Is there a like one click root thing for the new update? I used z4root on froyo but i dont see it in the market anymore. help?

As of this moment, there is no way to root the OTA Gingerbread. I have no doubt that root will come along soon, but no one can be specific about when soon will be. If you have to have root, you can sbf back to Froyo and find the rooted version of Gingerbread (though it's not the OTA). Instructions can be found in the stickies of the Rooting section of this forum. I'm going to wait...I'm tired of sbf'ing and setting everything back up.

Im with you. Im waiting. My X downloaded the GB update one night while I was asleep, but i just keep hitting the install later. Ill just keep hitting it when It pops up until we can root it without the hassle.
