What is the status of your Droid X order

Topic has been discussed. You technically haven't ordered anything as your card/account will be charged the amount tomorrow when it ships. Your order has been placed on a waiting list, and will be confirmed once the agent you spoke to returns in the morning and comes to your order on their list.

VZW CSRs are forced to be at work earlier than usual tomorrow morning to start fielding calls and orders for the Droid X.

Whether that is true or not, I don't know. But if I'm a CSR, this is my mindset. I'm coming in to field a flood of calls from people wanting the X. I'm taking every phone call I can and leaving the "pre-orders" for later because I know I have them already in my back pocket. Why would I forgo new business to take care of business that I already have? Just sayin'. I got burnt on day 1 Storm ordering and I'll never trust that process again.

The thing I dont understand is why is nobody just going into the store tomorrow morning and buying it? If everyone's so excited why wait an extra day...maybe two...

I figure if I go in tomorrow morning, buy the phone, get 100 dollars off for NE2, then charge the phone to my bill. Then send in my MIR on Friday. So when i get my phone bill in mid-august, I'll be about to get my MIR money, so really its just like an instant rebate and I dont have to wait until Friday...

O...and if your that hard pressed over 100 or 200 dollars...you shouldnt be worried about a phone...you should be worried about rent or feeding your baby or taking your girlfriend out to dinner lol

There are several reasons for ordering online.
1. INSTANT rebate. BTW, the rebate is in the form of a Visa debit card.
2. No dealing with waiting at the store and hoping you get one. Then having to deal with no nothing sales reps who want to do all kinds of stuff to the phone that I'd rather they not do.
3. Save an extra $20 for those of us using the annual upgrade.
4. I also want to order some accessories that the stores probably won't have. I already know for certain that my local store will not have any X accessories.
5. I can order it at 12:01AM and sleep comfortably knowing I got what I wanted without all of the hassles I mentioned above.

I agree, and you have a valid point. However, I didn't get the free car dock offer when I called in. I guarantee you I am getting some free stuff if my order doesn't ship as promised tomorrow/arrive friday. I can live with getting it Monday IF I'm getting compensated. So either way, I'm in decent shape. The reason why the DINC is so backordered is due to the supply of OLED's/change to TFT's.

1) Isn't a Visa debit card essentially cash you can use anywhere?
2) I made an appointment at my store and have a phone on hold...I walk in...they hand me a phone...charge my bill...and I leave.
3) That makes sense...I'm not doing annual upgrade so I dont know
4) I would order my accessories online
5) I'm sleeping comfortably too...albeit I'll be drunk and hungover when I wake up...

Hahaha just messing with ya...I guess it really comes down too if your willing to maybe wait in a store for 20-30 minutes and get your phone 36 hours early or if you're patient enough to wait the 36 hours....I'm not patient lol

well I have my mom to pay the bill, yet I just pay the 30$ internet package. I have to buy the X too, so I can only get an Instant Rebate option.

  • Because I hate waiting in lines.
  • Because I have to be at work early and all day.
  • Because who knows if the store will still have any after work?
  • Because I'd rather go for a sure thing Friday delivery instead of a maybe Thursday availability.
  • Because ordering on line or on the phone is painless.
  • Because it won't kill me to wait just one more day.

Another pro to ordering online is that you can check out all of the reviews/unboxing that people will post via YouTube :P

hey Guys, want the X for $175? and at your door on friday morning?

PM me and I will give you my Verizon Telesales Reps name numer and extension, for the referral YOU get a $25 giftcard back. no shenanigans, no bs.

not so sure the phone will be available online tonight at midnight EST. just checked the Verizon forums, and they dont know when it will be available. sounds like sometime on the 15th PST.

"Sorry about the confusion, we just got clarification about the release time for the Droid X on the website. The Verizon Wireless website is running off Pacific time. At this time we do not know a specific time when the phone will be available online on 7/15/10; however, the phone will be available on that date. "

No sales reps available at midnight.

So I called 611 from my phone. The guy I spoke with says the phones will go on sale at midnight. Additionally, he told me that no CSRs will be available then. That you can order first thing in the morning. So essentially the call centers aren't open 24 hours according to him.

I wish VZW just had one central process. I want this phone so bad, but I am don't know if I want to call 6-7 times just to get my order in.

What is this extra $20 for? I'm planning on getting one phone at full retail and another next week with my annual upgrade.

It's a small fee to utilize your annual upgrade. The fee is waived if you order it online and possibly through telesales. The stores whack you for it.

The guy im talking to now says i may be charged or it may be waved ordering threw telesales

My problem with these so called "pre-orders" is that you are relying on a CSR to actually follow through on their promise to place the order tomorrow. When I pre-ordered the original Storm over the phone the day before, the nice lady assured me that she would place the order the moment she got into work. Unfortunately, she never told me that she was off the next day.

Do what you want, but I'll place my own order at midnight. These CSR's that are you are talking to today have to go home at some point, and I doubt they'll be back to work at midnight.

The Verizon CSR called me back to verify some details, so I asked her when the pre-orders get entered and who does the order entry. She told me that she has to give all the orders to another dept before she goes home today. Then the other dept does the order entry on Thursday morning. She said she would be verifying tomorrow that all of her orders got entered.

This makes me feel somewhat better. I was a bit worried that she would be so busy entering new orders tomorrow that she would never get around to entering today's pre-orders.

I just got off the phone with Business Sales. I got one ordered up with no problems at all. I guess it helps when you have 10 lines with them as well. The first guy at CS told me he couldn't do anything until I mentioned my business account.

It's sort of complicated.

Why do you need a CSR to order the phone? Just order it straight from the web site

Because I don't quite qualify if I do it online. It's sort of complicated. It still shows my secondary line as being eligible in October 2010. The caveat is that I called one day and I caught some sort of magical, private promotion that they had where I CAN upgrade, but only through that call center. But I'm gonna call midnight anyway and see if I can reach someone. If so, I'll ask if they can see all that stuff on my notes.
