What phone are you going from to the G4?

Galaxy S6. Might sound crazy but it's something I'm considering.

I'll have to wait for reviews to come out and see what the battery life, camera and performance are like. While I do like the S6 a lot, the battery and inconsistent performance I'm getting is kinda killing me, so hopefully this 3000mah battery holds up. If the G4 camera and screen hold up, I might jump ship.

So what phone are you going from to the G4?

They opted for the Snapdragon 808, DDR3 RAM, no UFS 2.0 but QHD. Sounds like M9 Round 2 for the battery. No wireless charging. No mobile payment system. UI looks a bit more klunky than the GS4 TouchWiz. No rapid charging. Plastic back.

However, props to the display which will chew up the battery though. Camera looks great though. Don't think the camera is enough to save it. Looks like LG might be pulling an HTC.

Yeah I can't see myself switching to the G4. Feels like a backwards move. I can't see the LG UI performing as well as Touchwiz, especially when it's upgraded to 5.1 to level the playing field. The camera is intriguing, but again, it's all down to software and again, I'm not sold on LG. The display looks amazing, but give me AMOLED any day of the week----especially one with dual curves. Never mind I don't think I can get rid of the double tap camera feature and the fingerprint sensor. Those are just 2 things other carriers can't hang with right now.

If the G4 had a Fingerprint scanner I maybe would have thought about it but it doesn't. Also I want to try Samsung Pay... The G4 is a decent phone though.

I'm going from G2 to G4. Won't be much of a transition and I'll eventually flash a custom ROM if I don't like the UI.

No fingerprint sensor and it's a bit too big for me (approaching phablet territory). Also, will the wireless back add to the thickness, like it did with the S5?

Leather back is nice, but I'd probably cover it up with a case anyway.

I'll stick with my S6.

Good phone. Not too trilled about the aesthetics though. Overall I don't think there is anything compelling enough for me to switch however.

I'm on the S6, but its battery is just painful, and the software although better is kind of unco. Seriously considering the G4, but really all I want is a brand new version of the nexus 5. If LG can just redo the Nexus5 with latest camera and battery that would be amazing.

have the S4 and Nexus 4, will be replacing both this year. VZ just announced their rolling out LP to my S4, so I'm in no big rush. I'll check out the Moto X, Note and Nexus before making a decision.

I'd get the G4 over S6 right now. Cameras are both great, but the G4 had the replaceable battery. I can care less about finger print scanner, and even though it doesn't come out of the box, I can still get wireless charging.

Quick charge isn't a feature if use on the S6. The battery is small enough and the quick charge just depletes its strength quicker. They're both great phones though.

Ultimately it's gonna come down to battery and UX. I'm really hoping the Moto X improves their battery significantly. I'd love to sport that and the Note 5 for the next 3 years. We'll see.

Don't know what you mean by a few of the things there.

It has a 3,000mah battery, so it should be pretty good, or at least better than my current S6. It has NFC so my banking app will be able to do wireless payment without issue (as I'm currently doing with my S6 despite no Samsung Pay), so no problem there. I thought the UI looks snappy and faster than the S6.Especially in this hands on video by Android Authority. At 2:30 you can see him press the camera app on both the G4 and S6 Edge and the G4 fires up the camera substantially faster than the S6 Edge.

I believe the Snapdragon 808 is rapid charge available, so I don't have a problem there, but hopefully the large battery means I won't have to charge it as soon as my S6.

And as you mentioned, the camera looks great. Will have to wait for proper reviews and more hands on to see how it stands up, but the G4 is really swaying me to sell my S6.

I've got a Nexus 6 which I love so I'm not going anywhere. But the G4 looks great to me. I'd pick it over a galaxy s6.
