What problems are you experiencing with the Essential Phone

Let me know in what exact ways the camera is bad.
- Low light
- Action
- High contrast

It's not a terrible camera and does do well in good light, but let's not go overboard defending it. Photo quality is highly subjective. ;)

I am not defending it. If the camera is too bad, yes, I will jump and let folks where it fails.

- 4k Video: not that good
- Low light and other conditions: Google Camera still gives better photos than Essential Camera app

Still Photography, be it daylight, cloudy and other indoor conditions, the camera seems to perform well so far.
 
I tried my best to keep this phone but the software and camera performance are subpar. I have requested a return label. I will see what the next version brings to the table.
 
mine has been pretty perfect till yesterday and i started having freeze ups and touch screen issues. reset twice and a fresh install. in the process of exchanging it.
I think the touch sensitivity for me is improved after I went to settings>accessibility>talkback>settings>gestures>tap detector sensitivity and set to high. I still have TalkBack off.
 
paying $100 bucks to be a developer is not the same as paying $700 for a phone. Paying a Dev fee so you can gain access to code is not the same. Paying that $100 to help you code an app that could return big $$$....so its not even close to being the same thing.

But if your happy spending that money then that is all that counts.

Those people also pay 700+ for the iPhone or 1200 plus for the computer to be a beta tester. You can't test a beta if you don't have the device to test it on. I know pleanty of people who pay the devolper fee, for the soul purpose of access to the full iOS beta program. They are not app devoloped just people who like to test software and help out the community as a whole.

My phone won't connect to voice service no more I'm on sprint my data works fine but I can not make any voice calls it keeps saying network not available just started last night I call sprint they tried everything and nothing work this phone is problematic at best

Did you purchase through Sprint?

Don't believe there is any official way to share the feedback. I haven't seen any support or feedback forum or something resembling that on essential. It may be a while until they set up all those things, until then probably twitter or other means. It's not like people don't want to let them know but there isn't a good channel to provide feedback.

I email them via support@essential and got a reply the next day about a question.

I submitted feedback to enable third part launcher use of the full screen. For the Nova fans I would suggest doing the same thing.
 
I'm with ATT with no issues. The only issue I seemed to be having at the moment is Smart Lock doesn't seem to display my devices I have set as Smart Lock. Might just he user error. I been fortunate to seem to have no issues other than non existent customer service. Lord forbid I have warranty issues.

I have ATT but it will not show LTE in the notification bar by the signal strength. I have called customer service for ATT but they can't seem to help me.

Swipe down to view the notification bar. You should see an LTE logo there. If not, turn off WiFi and see if it appears. It looks like Essential uses the standard signal indicator icon when WiFi is enabled so the two icons can be packed together more closely.

Most likely you're on LTE but the icon isn't showing it as you might expect.

I'm on ATT and showing LTE+ in the notification bar. I set my phone up as new and just moved the sim from my s8 to the Essential and everything is working fine. If you gave ATT your Essential IMEI then that could be the issue given how ATT provisions services.
 
I was excited about this phone but looks like Sprint has pushed it back to as far as 9/30 as a release date.
