I have a Droid X and recently the bottom of my screen started screwing up and had lines going through it or would just block out, so I took my phone to Verizon and the rep told me they were having this problem with some Droid X's. The rep told me that he could order me a new one because they didn't have any in stock and it was still under warranty, but it would'nt be delivered until Monday because it was Thursday, well today is Monday and my X came, but guess what? They sent me a certified pre-owned X as a warranty replacement. WTF?! Verizon, Warranty replacements should be new damn it! I paid for new I want new!

If you're out of 30 days, you get refurb.

Under 30 days, you get brand new.

what he meant was "new to you"

Your device was used (by you), so your replacement device is CLNR not new. It's in your contract.

I received my very first warranty exchange today as well. It was a refurb, but that's what I was expecting. I was also expecting that this refurbished unit wasn't going to take care of the issues I was having in the first place, and I was right. So I called Verizon and told them I'm sending their refurbished device right back to them. Aside from the fact it will STILL have the same glitches, my current one doesn't have ANY cosmetic damage. The one I received is pretty scratched up.

That is all kinds of messed up, literally. How could they send you a CLNR device that has cosmetic damage?

I've seen the CLNR devices from Asurion, some suck.

The ONLY company that I've seen that do THE BEST job of CLNR devices is Apple.

Their refurb iPhone's are top notch.

ask for another one, a replacement should look new.

Let me see here.....I got my Escalade worked on got a new water pump put in and it only has 350 miles on it and you didn't give me a new one back.........ROTFLMAO Give me a break...please.

The scratches were minor, but they were there. Under different circumstances I might have asked Verizon to send me another one, but I did turn this refurbished unit on and played around with it. Unfortunately, the SAME issues popped up as I was having with my original device. So I called Verizon and told them I was sending them the refurbished unit back. Not because of the scratches, but because it wasn't going to do me any good. I'm more convinced than ever, that the 2.2 software written for the X and the Droid 2 are very buggy. I might as well keep my original device which is still in mint condition.

Okay that statement makes NO sense WHATSOEVER. But...whatever floats your boat. I will clarify this for you though. I had stated in my own post that I KNEW I was being sent a refurbished unit. I have NO issue with that. I would, however, have an issue being sent something that is supposed to be "like new" but is FAR from it. Fact is, this refurbished unit I received clearly looks like it has been dropped. I don't mind getting a "like new" phone, provided it doesn't look beat to s**t.

i've done that with my incredible. (the replacement wouldn't charge, as the usb port was defective) you don't really have to tell them. as long as they get one back they don't care which it is.

Terrible analogy there, Sparky.

agreed... and they probably put a NEW water pump in it, not a refurbished certified like new water pump. if they could replace the guts of my phone it would be the same analogy, unfortunately they cant replace the guts so they give you a whole new phone. that was the worst analogy ever. You aren't even comparing apples to apples.

unfortunately receiving a new phone for a lot of these problems does nothing. These are all software related problems, so until they fix the build then new phones wont fix it.

Stop your CRYING.......If you don't like it send it back. I've never seen such ball babys............. SPARKY.LOL

Maybe you should send your computer off and get one where you dont have ball babys in it .... thats for you spanky!!

I's be goods at analogers!!! I's so smrt!!!
