What type of screen protector comes pre-installed on the S10?

When I was at BB during the pre-ordering phase there were a couple of Samsung Reps there and we talked about the screen protectors in general. I expressed the concern about adequate screen protectors being available that worked with the fingerprint sensor. They told me that Samsung was putting a screen protector on as part of the delivery. They also said that the material being used was intended to be the same material as the screens themselves. I can't corroborate ... Just relaying what I was told.

Not sure how, but mine got a scratch in it today. I may get annoyed enough by it and take it off. HOpefully the screen under it is ok

Snap! Mine too - I was gutted as I thought I'd scratched the screen. I'll see how it goes before I rip it off. Was enjoying the screen too!

I took mine off. Really improves responses to touches and glass feels a lot better than that cheap, crappy plastic? I'm very careful with my phone so I'm not worried about scratches.

I hate anything over a screen like this.

Usually I feel the same way but this thing is slick! Really slippery. I'm sure touches work better without it. I just like knowing my screen has never been touched by human hands yet. haha.

Huh? You must have different one than mine. My screen is so slick I think it messes with the FPS because my finger slides so easy. Eh, I use the face unlock anyway. But no, there is no cheap feel.

My Whitestone dome came in today but think I'll stick with the factory plastic for now. Fingerprint works like crap with the stock protector so I can only imagine how bad it would be with the dome glass.

Curious. Is your phone the 128GB, 512GB, or 1TB version?

I don,t use a screen protector normally, but the free one is really good. Don't really know it's there. Finger print sensor works as good as my S8 plus did. Also have increase touch sensitivity turned off. I really happy with the fringer print sensor back on the front of the phone

Likewise. I normally don't use screen protectors but I kept the preinstalled one on because I didn't notice it being there. The only bad thing is that it distorts viewing the screen in portrait mode when I'm wearing my polarized sunglasses. So, eventually I'll probably pull it off.

How hard is it to remove? After I installed my Defender case, the OEM screen protector bubbled up at the top corners and a small bubble near the Bixby key. Other than that, haven't noticed any other issues, not even scratching. I have never had a screen protector on any of my curved Galaxy devices until now. I keep my GS10+ in my pocket, face in, with nothing else in the pocket.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this way. The phone feels so natural, it does not affect the screen touch sensitivity, you cant even notice theres a protector unless you ACTUALLY look for it, and the scratches I've made on it from my keys and vape mod, have been very well protected by that protector. Tempered glasses are way too thick, expensive and collect so much dust on the edges, something I have not seen yet in a little over a week with a FREE screen protector. Absolutely zero complaints.
I don't know about anyone else, but I've been loving the pre-installed screen protector. To the point that I've already forgot it's even there. Which I've always thought a screen protector is all about.

You can't tell it's there, it's clear, it's as smooth as the glass, it protects from everyday scratches and it literally doesn't show any fingerprints.

I can't ask for more personally. Better than those bulky tempered glass screen protectors that look ridiculous on the phone imo.

I hate screen protectors and noticed after removing the one that came on it my finger print scanner works a lot better for me.

Yesterday, I noticed scratches all over my screen (protector). Apparently I'm not as careful as I thought I was. I immediately ordered the Whitestone Dome. I'm tempted to take this one off until then, because I really want to make sure that there are no scratches underneath, but I'll wait until I'm ready to install the new one. I really do like the feel of this one because it really doesn't feel like there's a screen protector on. If I hadn't noticed the scratches, I would be keeping this for awhile. I hope the Whitestone Dome doesn't make the FPS harder to use.

You are correct. It is a plastic screen protector. It protects the screen from scratches though. Thus being a screen protector. I used to use these all the time back in the day as these are all we had. I don't mind it. It's free. It wasn't extra. It was included in the cost of the phone. I'll use it until it gets messed up then switch it out.

Ya, same here. It feels as smooth as glass and it hasn't hardly scratched at all. And knowing it keeps the glass underneath safe, I'll leave it on. Until it becomes too unsightly from scratches.

I'm leaving mine on

It's fitted very well; no raised edges and it covers the screen well too.

I've altered the settings to make the screen sensitivity better for screen protectors that are fitted; it's set up fingerprints with no issues (just press on a bit harder) and away you go :)

Well mines finally bit the dust :(

Managed to nick it somehow and it created a bubble; so it's been removed and it's in an i-Blason Ares case for now (built in screen protector); I've switched fingerprints off, so it's pin and face recognition for the security currently

Will have to look into the aftermarket screen protectors and see which work best; the Whitestone Dome one gets slated on Amazon UK; so for £45 I'll avoid that for now
