What will it take to get you interested in a Pixel 4/4XL?

I'm with you on the trade in thing.

2019 was my year for dating different phones, other than the Pixels I've used for years. I tried the Pixel XL, still have it, the 3a, 3aXL, and the Note 10+, all of which were sold.

The 3, or the 3XL will be traded in on whatever model P4 I get. After using all those phones I am currently using the P3, I love this little guy, we're having a bronemance

EDIT: Since I will be trading one phone in, I am not to worried about the price. I will be getting one of the P4 64GB models. If I was ordering now, it would be the Pixel 3.
Yup...trade in from now on , I have too many phones that need to go

If you want to get rid of some phones, and are of the mind to do so, I think there are places to donate them to Servicemen and also battered women shelters. I did this a few years ago, great feeling

Would hope a phone mfg might read a post and listen.

They do surveys don't they.

There are many different opinions on what is important to people. Not sure this forum would be a large enough group to base anything on. JMO

Has anyone heard/seen leaks on the charging capabilities of the P4? Would be nice if we got something a little speedier than the 18W we've gotten in past Pixels.

Something like 27W fast charging would be great...even 20-25w

They have focus groups and surveys

Has anyone on here ever been in one of these fabled focus groups?
Yes, we represent a minority opinion, but it's one that should be represented to some degree nonetheless.

It's funny this comes up, and was just wondering what it would look like if OEMs had some sort of exit survey every time people changed phones. They'd probably get a lot of good data and insight on why people chose to stick with them or move on to a different phone, which could help them know what to focus on... Maybe if they got hard data they'd finally realize all we really want is good battery life more than a thinner phone.

My cut off is 1000.00 then have to be a trade in to reduce that . Will not spend that money straight up on a phone and I did for the pixel 3xl at 980.00 last year but won't happen again for any phone .

Same here. I will one up you as well, I am losing faith in the Pixel line.

When it was the Nexus, adn the price matched the specs, I paid it. These Pixel phones are simply behind in nearly every aspect.

I don't need a mSD slot. I do need a real battery and a respectable HDD. The fact that the base model is 64GB, is shameful. The teeny batteries is also shameful.

The non XL ebtter not be more than $700. There is no reason to buy it over an iPhone 11. I HATE iPhones, but I see how the value does not stack up.

I understand believe me , If they give that price or higher no problem but give me a good trade in value and I'll keep coming back . Samsung does,Apple does and I want Google also .

It's sad that if we want on time updates, we have to put up with outrageous prices for what we get.

I will tell you, I bought the Nexus 5, and left Sprint for AT&T. Before the nexus 5, I had the Samsung Instinct --- Palm Pre ---- Galaxy Epic -------Galaxy S2 ------ Galaxy S3 ------ Nexus 5 ----- Nexus 6 ------- Nexus 5X ------ Pixel ------- Pixel 2 XL.

I did not get the Pixel 3, as I hated that ugly notch.

I justified the P2 because of the camera and updates.

The Pixel 3XL was simply too expensive for such an ugly, ridiculous looking phone. Now, the P4 is rumoroed to coast more?? They removed the finger print reader and replaced it with a face chip, which I don't want to use, and that Soli chip that I can't see a reason why it even exists.

They finally bump up to 6GB of ram, FINALLY, and then make the stupid decision to go with that teeny battery and a 64GB phone, in 2019????

No. Not for more than $700 for the regular one, and that better be the 128. 128Gb is the minimum a phone should be in 2019. As for the XL, if it is $1 over $900, it's a hard pass until it's below $900.

So pixel 4 won't have a finger print sensors to unlock the phone.
They want to use facial recognition.
No way.

I don't know what the heck Google is thinking. Are they even trying to stay competitive?
