What would it take for you to ditch your gnex?

Already ditched mine for a 4S. Couldn't take the mic cutting out and the screeching in my ears during phone calls (and the fact that multi-touch didn't really work well in games like GTA3, but that was the least of my issues). I need a phone to work as a phone first, and a toy second. But don't get me wrong, I miss it each and every day. So if yours is working right, thank the cell phone gods and be happy.
Its good to hear that u still miss ur gnex. So if all of the bid were fixed in the 4.04 update, would u switch back?

I'll get whatever is available when my upgrade is up. Hopefully that would be the next Nexus phone...assuming Verizon ever gets another Nexus phone.

Let me start off by saying that I have had 21 phones in five years lol. The nexus was number 21 for my 21st birthday lol. I did however get a perfect one with not one single issue and have actually found a phone I can see keeping for the full 20 months before wanting to upgrade.

A lightning bolt to strike me dead. :-P

If my issues were fixed, I would absolutely switch back. I've already debated on it quite frequently, but I just can't do it until those issues were fixed. I just have a serious issue with a phone not being a phone. It was great as long as I wasn't talking on it (or trying to play GTA3), but when I would make phone calls and would have this screeching sound in my ear that actually hurt when I got done with the call, or when I would be talking to my wife and she would all of a sudden start saying "hello?" "hello?" because she couldn't hear me anymore, that was my sign to exit.

But yes, I think it was a great piece of hardware, beyond all of that. If I know for a fact that the next ICS build for it fixed my issues, I would probably put my 4S on the market and try to find a Nexus. But I have to have some pretty strong verification that those have been fixed. Right now, for me, the 4S is the best phone. It is boring as all hell, but it gets the job done and I have no data or phone call issues, which is the important part.

My phone has zero lag, an awesome screen, was speedy as hell when I took it to NYC recently, looks beautiful, and has ICS which is hands down Google's best to date.

With that said, and I'm not going to beat a dead horse, my particular phone has several issues which definitely ruin the experience for me. I have always told myself there's no way I'd get a Windows Phone 7- outdated hardware, limited OS, poor selection of apps, and a bad taste in my mouth from Windows Mobile 6.5, and then I played with the Nokia Lumia my brother just bought. That is one smooth, I mean buttery smooth, experience. Even with a single core, it puts most Android phones to shame as far as UI experience goes. They have limited apps, but the apps they do have seem much more...I don't know how to put, usable? I like their menu system, I like the tiles, overall a phone I thought I'd hate gained a lot of respect. They aren't quite there yet, but they are pretty close. This wasn't even a flagship phone, either.

I think when Windows 8 and the matching Windows Phone 8 (or 7 update, not sure how they're doing it) comes out, they will be a force to be reckoned with, with a seamless Desktop to mobile OS to tablet experience. So while I love my Nexus and none of the other choices would even tempt me a bit (except the updated Nexus, of course), I have to admit I'd be tempted by a top of the line Windows Phone with LTE, build quality of Nokia, and the (judging by reviews) fantastic camera they put in their top of the line phones. Bring on the flames I guess haha.

Ok ok. I actually read ur post before I posted. I used ics to refer as the nexus as a whole. That was my mistake. Sorry. Now I understand u have issues with ur phone and I'm not saying u have to sit back and deal with it (gnex girl!) I'm saying that since this is a nexus device, expect issues with it and be aware of them before u buy. The nexus is like a beta device meant to test out the new software. I don't want to start a flame war here. And I appreciate u taking a more calm approach with ur answer. Now let's just end this argument and actually focus on what the original question was.

No flames coming from me. I've used BB, Android, and iOS, but not Windows Phone.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at all interested in checking it out. If VZW ever got a top shelf Nokia with 4G, I'd definitely consider it. I really like the way it looks. And seems very seamless and easy to use. I agree with each and every point you made. I'm also one of those people that needs a good camera in my phone. I don't want to carry an extra camera when I can use my phone. I don't need a murse. Which is part of the reason why I'm using a 4S now, for the camera. And I've heard those cameras in the top of the line Nokia phones are ridiculous.

A quad core stock ICS phone = Yes
the Iphone 5 = Yes
a LTE nokia windows phone = I haven't played around with this too much so maybe
the next jelly bean nexus phone = Yes
the blackberry os 10 phone = No
a verizon wireless employee = No
a verizon wireless branded 4g LTE PONY = No

I'm glad I never had any of those issues other people encountered lol!

I too am really glad I got a "no issues" GN. What is disconcerting though is that Samsungs quality control is not up to par. If they can let all these 'subpar' phones slip by, does not speak well of the company.

The only problem with that is you better not be on Verizon because it seems like Verizon has NO INTEREST in Windows phone (the only phone is the Trophy which came 8 months after release) and it doesn't look like they're going to be getting any of the new WP7 phones. I think they're heavily committed to Android and only took on the iPhone to stem defections. They even have more Blackberries and as many Palm Pre2s as WP7. It's hard to see WP7 getting any traction when they're not on Verizon (#1) or Sprint (#3). Sprint has just made a MAJOR commitment to iPhone so it doesn't seem too interested in WP7 either.

Hands up :) ,,there isnt another phone out on vzw's network that would cause me to get rid of my GN.
