What's happened to my photos on my s5?

I've recently bought a Samsung s5 mini I have taken photos of my 10 month old son which I can no longer view. This only seems to happen which are taken with out the flash on. I am able to see the images in a small square on the camera roll but I can't see anything on my images. Please could someone help as I would love to be able to see these photos of my son.
