Whats Revolutionary About iPhone 5?

And well I agree with that too. I'm just glad we live in times we can have this argument. Let's talk about cell phones on the 90s.... No mobile Internet, no apps, 3 hours of standby, 20 minutes of talk time. I don't miss those days.

Well I think I finally understand the Android user's frustration. You have all this horsepower. You have a quad core processor, 2 gigs of ram...blah blah.

And yet you still cannot get the same responsive, fluid experience the average iOS user gets with half the power.

Now I see. You're not angry towards Apple. You're mad at Android. I coulda had a V8! Doh!

While some Android users on this forum are frustrated, I believe the common theme of that frustration is not as you state.

Android users enjoy a responsive, fluid experience on their devices just as iOS users do on theirs. If the Android experience was not that, it would not be leading in marketshare.

The vast majority of Android users, indeed iOS users, have lives that revolve around more important things then the OS of their phone devices. You will not find them here. They are out doing that which they need to do or that which they enjoy doing.

The folks you read on these Android forums represent a miniscule percentage of the Android user population. They are here because of their interest in the platform.

Typical readers of these forums, I imagine, are just Android users looking for answers to how-to questions. Or sharing discoveries they have made. Yes, some don't fall into those categories, but so what?

Remember, these are the Android forums. As an iOS enthusiast, which I think you are, you might be reading posts here that upset you.

Ultimately, we all own our anger and our happiness. Enjoy your choice or make a new one.

I say enough with all this. You shouldn't care what other person likes . Vote with your wallet

That's weird my Android is just as fluid as the iPhone

This. There is nothing revolutionary about it. But there didn't need to be. We have reached the point where 'revolutionary' is almost impossible. Nearly everything that can be done with today's technology has already been thought of.

Yet revolutionary was achieved by the Samsung Galaxy SIII only three months ago.

Wtf?! What are you using, a $10 Coby? All Android devices I've used are about twice as fast as the latest iOS devices.

There is absolutely not a single thing revolutionary about the S3.

Really??? Ok if you say. What Android is twice as fast as the iphone5 or the 4S for that matter.

I'm in the same boat, a high school student that is stuck in class with a herd of iSheep and iDiots! lol They went on and on today about what they heard about the iP5 and I just sat there thinking in my head as they named off the "new" features of how long ago Android got those SAME EXACT features.
1)Google Maps-Is there even a date for this? I think the original Droid had this lol
2)1GB of memory- Every semi-good Android phone since 2010 has had this
3) 4G LTE- my TBolt in early 2011
4) 4' screen- the Evo in 2010 had a 4.3 inch display which at Apple's rate we won't see a 4.3 inch iPhone for another 5 years lol

And I swear Apple just made the word retina up to make it sound cool because looking at the exact resolution it ISNT EVEN HD! Its nHD which no other known company uses!

Ugh..people these days!

Yeah, that is very irritating.

When they get to talking about how much better the iPhone is than an android i stop dealing with opinions and use FACTS to prove that the iPhone is an under powered under capable device.

They almost always end up saying "yeah but it's still no iPhone"

That's their answer when after they said the iPhone is the best phone because it does everything and they've been proven wrong.

A few of the people i know like that have actually converted though, my wife has an infuse 4g, co-worker has a nexus and more has a galaxy s III, the other has a droid razr maxx.

If you like iPhone more, so be it. I don't care, but don't say an iPhone can do more than any other phone, that's when you tread on untruthful territory.

Apple loves to cite the user experience is their main priority, but how good of an experience can you have when you're restricted from doing everything with YOUR phone?

I would say that the user experience has surpassed iOS with Jelly Bean. I am seeing that now as I compare the GNex with the iPhone 4S.

Josh Topolsky sure thinks so...

I think the weird thing is with the big "5" name you might expect a major overhaul of the iphone and ios, but instead its more like a car thats been given a face lift and more horsepower. I still don't get the 5 name though. I thought for sure it would just be called "the new iphone" and lightly referred to as "iphone (6th generation)". Both apple and Microsoft don't know how to count (MS with windows 6.1 and windows 6.2, 7 and 8 respectfully)

Some would argue the majority of Android users are using commodity devices. More about $$$, and less about platform.

Lol. That's a feature. Hardly revolutionary.

Really??? Ok if you say. What Android is twice as fast as the iphone5 or the 4S for that matter.

I guess the paper spec is all that matters to you. Don't let your emotions get the best of you.

Why can't the die hard Android fan just say the other platforms are not for them, and leave it at that? Why must they attack the other platforms with factless bantor?

I think jelly bean solves the smoothness problem on android. But I agree that specs don't mean diddly. How else does anyone think a 6 year old ps3 with outdated specs can still run battlefield 3 pretty decently? Yes it shows its age a bit up against the PC version but for $300 or whatever it costs now you couldn't even build a system that runs BF3! It's optimization. IOS is optimized for the hardware it runs on, android is designed for millions of hardware configurations. So don't get caught up in the specs argument because they don't mean much. Android naturally needs better hardware as it's a universal os.

Lol. That's a feature. Hardly revolutionary.

You want more? Smart Stay. Motion Gestures. Quad core and/or 2 gigs RAM in a mainstream phone. NFC (not the first, but one of the first. Meanwhile the iPhone still doesn't have it.). You can call this barely revolutionary, but name an iPhone feature that's even the slightest bit revolutionary.

Why must they attack the other platforms with factless bantor?

Haha. Like JHBThree's post wasn't factless banter. Why can't you just go back to iMore instead of trolling here on Android Central where you obviously disagree with pro-Android views.

I guess the paper spec is all that matters to you.

Nope. I can speak from experience, having actually compared iOS and Android devices. Granted, I haven't used the iPhone 5, but the Android devices I've used are pre-iPhone 5 so it's still fair. I can honestly say that the Android devices performed everything faster than the iOS devices.
