Yeah remember when phones kept getting smaller and smaller? Seems to be going the other way now. I think if done correctly, a 4.5" screen could be great. Also with the Bionic having a 4.5" screen, Moto could have 3 different lines of Droid phones. The Droid series would be 4" and keyboard, the X series with 4.3" screens, and the Bionic series with 4.5" screens. Oh and the Pro series for people that like the Blackberry form factor.

Gotta say, I do kinda wish they wish went with real buttons.. But I can live with these kind as long as the dual core doesn't have any lag, which I expect it wont. I have passed up so many other phones waiting for this one- hope I am not dissapointed!

I don't see how you say it is that much clearer. I mean it is in the middle of the pic which appears more in focus so obviously it would be a little clearer.

It's not that much clearer, but it is distinct from the remaining text, particluarly if you look at "Model number" right above it which should be in the same focus plane, or "0/0905/XT875-continuous.Verizon.en.US....." above it and "2.3.4" below it. There shouldn't be that much of a difference in the focus on those three lines which are the same size and font. Either that or maybe I'm turning into a cynic like CK

I think I would prefer the 4.3" but I have never seen anywhere that confirmed that 4.5" was a mistake. Can you post your source please?

I'm not a source. But I took the picture of the 'bionic' lined up against the Defy. I estimated that bionic is approximately 1" taller. (Defy dimensions are 4.21 x 2.32 x 0.53) So if the height of the bionic is 5.21 that's a 23% increase. Applying 23% to all dimensions you have 5.21 x 2.82 x .65. 5.21 x 2.82 houses a 4.5" screen quite accurately to the screen we see in the photo that compares the device to the defy.

I hope the 23% is not applied to the depth. .65 would be a ginormous phone.. Also I think the FCC released a scale of the device. If the numbers hold true to my own, you can bet there is a 4.5" screen.

Remember when 4.3 was HUGE to people and they said it was way too big?

When I first considered my DX I was worried about the 4.3 inch screen, but after making the switch from my OG Droid, I could never go back to anything smaller. 4.5 will probably be great!

Yeah I almost regret not upgrading from my OG Droid to the Droid X. My brother did that and I remember thinking "LOL it's huuuge!" But that thing was freakin' awesome in size. I realize my phone spends less time in my pocket and more time either in my hand, on my desk or in my brief case for work or elsewhere... It is annoying to keep even my OG Droid in my pocket so it usually doesn't find its way there.

Now my mom has a Droid X and... I'm feeling a little jealous hahaha.

I don't think anyone knows for sure the screen size until we see something official. I remember back when the Droid X was being speculated on and it was rumored to either have a 4.1 or 4.3" screen and it ended up being 4.3.

I guess a verizon rep came in to show them some information on various subjects. That is the best info that causes me to believe it is truly 4.3 I wish I could find the thread or remember which forum it was on.

He said that it didn't look like 4.5 but he wasn't sure. So until we have some official confirmation, it could be either size. Why couldn't those leaked pics of the Bionic be next to a Droid X so we could tell?!
