Whats your first impression of your new Moto X!?

You can adjust animation settings in the developer settings that can help make it seem it's more responsive.

I had all the intentions of picking one up full retail at AT&T today. The camera is absolutely atrocious. Every pic I took was blurry/fuzzy, like the post processing was off.

I don't know about you, but I'm plenty satisfied with these results.

I noticed today while taking a lot of pictures that it is much more difficult to get the camera to come on with the wrist twist than it was in the original moto x. Disappointing.

It is fine for me, I have OG moto x as well, equally responsive.

I find that the new Moto X camera is much more yellow than the iphone 5s or the 1st gen Moto X (picture was taken with 1st gen Moto X.)

Well it's just how it apply the white balance, it's all base on software, some other apps like Camera Awesome and Camera FV-5 lets you manually adjust it. I pretty much accept that Motorola image processing software isn't as good as Apple and some other manufacturers right now.

White balance is about the easiest thing to adjust on a picture. Using photoshop you can change that globally on all of your photos with ease so I would not worry about that.

Back when I did web publishing I scored a copy of photoshop elements for 90 dollars. Still there are other free tools to do that, which I used to use.

As much as I love the colors, size, and resolution of this display, it looks like there is a haze/fog under it that I haven't seen with other recent phones. Has anybody else noticed this?

Can you elaborate or show some pictures? As a prospective Moto X buyer, I'd be really curious to know what this is about.

I finally saw two in person yesterday while riding the blue line here in Chicago. It's definitely a big phone--a bit too much for me. I was really drawn in by the screen, though. Like the 2013 Moto X, the screen looked shockingly enormous considering the size of the phone's body.

Still not sure if I really want to let go of my 2013 Moto X, though.

Well you can buy the new one and also keep the old one.

Very disappointed with the signal performance. In low signal areas I can't call out.. My s5 sitting side by side makes the call every time.. The new Moto x will not.. I was really hoping this phone would better better than my s5 I loved the touchless control and all the other innovative features.

The camera compared to the s5 was a bust. In all other areas except screen brightness it compared well.. It's going back to Moto.

I got to play with one at the Verizon store. The build quality seems better they current X. I really like about it are the size its about perfect. The front speaker sound great and they are a little raised so when you so the device face down the screen isn't touching at all.

Interesting on the signal issue. From what I've been reading, you're a minority on it though.

Yea wasn't one of the moto selling points the fantastic signal? I thought they had the best radios. It's one of the reasons I want one because my note 3 has the worst signal ever. It's constantly one bar of signal or -119 dbz

Also can somebody show me how fingerprint prone the plastic is? I'm debating between the plastic and ebony wood.

So I do not have mine yet, but i went to the store and played with one for 10 min or so:

It's big. Not unwieldy by any means, but I can understand why some would not like the size. I am looking for forward to the size just because I have been wanting to try a bigger phone.

The speaker grills are raised and annoying. Also the speaker is plenty loud and sounds good, but you can tell some directional volume change. Still better than any rear facing speaker...

This thing has rock solid UI. I did some stress tests and could not make it lag. Very impressed. I would want to speed up the animations though to make it feel snappier. It has too much of an iphone feel to it for my tastes.

The wood back had actual wood texture to it. I expected a thick coating. Not sure if I would like it or not.

Also played the new iPhones for the first time. I HATE the design. I dropped the 6 three times in a minute and a half. I have liked every iPhone design up to this point, but this one is terrible. O and the 6+ is HUGE. Complete unwieldy.

Being the unimaginative ol' fart that I am I took delivery of the black leather X today. Walked through the set up and "Cassandra" was showing off her talents. Interactive is a relative term when it comes down to humans and machines. Arguably the Moto X is the most interactive phone out there (business phablets aside). If it were only that simple. I'm trying to decide between the Moto X and the HTC One M8. The HTC is jewel like crafted, great battery life, lots of storage and those glorious speakers. Since I listen to music on my phone those are important to me. The X has this tactile human side. It chats with me. The leather gives that air of character and feel that wears with me. It is that the lives with me rather for me experience the X does so well. That's hard to quantify. Yup it's way faster than this ol' man's grey matter and paws can fly. The screen is gorgeous. That describes almost every high end phone out there. But the one thing the Moto X does better than any other phone is how it plays nice with mere mortals. The camera isn't a 47 pixel wonder. It is easy, outrageously convenient and pretty dog gone good for most applications (which I can't say about it's predecessor). The battery isn't stellar. It gets most folks through the day. This is a device that I just feel comfortable with on so many different levels. It isn't out to be the best device out there. But it is trying to be the best digital companion that plugs into my little world almost seamlessly. If it had an apple on it's back people would call it magic.
