What's Your Greatest Fear/Concern About The S10?

The ultrasonic FPS - Which, I'd have to say is the phone's marquee feature. If they got this wrong, there's going to be big trouble in Samsung-land! Initial reports, while sketchy, suggest that it's far from perfect and may even be a step backwards from the better optical FPS' that preceded it. As I said, these reports are all from pre-production models and are all just anecdotal for the moment. But if they do prove to be true, that will be a severe disappointment.

Camera quality - This one's a bit more complicated as most initial reports seem to indicate that the rear shooters are superb while the so-called "selfie camera(s)" are merely acceptable. A related concern is the rear shooter's low light capabilities. Here, while there seem to have been clear software improvements from previous generations of Galaxy S offerings, the low-light capabilities of this phone lag behind those of the Pixel and Huawei pro 20

Bixby button - It can be remapped without installing fancy 3rd party apps but even still, it will continue to open up Bixby with one or two presses. I think most of us will opt for Bixby on the 2nd press so that we can open up something useful with the 1st press of this button. A footnote to this concern is just what the heck does or can Bixby do anyway? Does it have any real world functionality that can't be duplicated (and bettered) by Google Assistant?

Battery life - So far there's no real solid information on this, but with a 4100 mAh battery (S10+), and the 7nm Snapdragon 855 processor things here will likely be pretty good. Hard to see any nasty downside surprises in this area.

Phone color - Most people are ordering this phone sight unseen. If you're ordering the Prism white or the Prism blue, I'd urge you to go to your nearest Verizon or ATT corporate store and check these out in person. I know things like this are very subjective and, as long as you're happy with what you see, it's all good. But the white is definitely not white. It's a weird pearlescent with reflections of pink and light blue. I found it quite off-putting so I'd just recommend that you try and see it in person before pulling the trigger. The blue is just pale looking and has no "pop" to it. If you like it, great, but if you're looking for something that's vibrant I'd look elsewhere.

On the other side I am an amateur and I don't know so much about radiation but I'm concerned about caring in my pocket something that have ultrasonic radiation even that is very small amount(probably).

No concerns

All reports are battery life is very good and the FP scanner is quick enough for most people and works very well.

I don't think it's the speed of the FPS that has people concerned, I think it's the accuracy and/or reliability that's the issue here. Some reports say that it works only about 50% of the time. While some of this may be to 'user error' like putting your finger on the wrong part of the screen, some of these failures may be due to design flaws in the sensor. And if that's true, that's a MAJOR problem.

I havn’t Seen many issues with that so far but lets review it better when the production units are out as currently all that’s been tested is the demo units. Both are different as we all know. I know Face ID isn’t perfect and I don’t think this will be straight away either.

It's the camera for me I know it'll be good but I want it better than that for the price we are paying it should be the best camera of the year

I'm also not feeling the cutout just yet hopefully I'll get used to it and it won't be an issue

For anyone interested in the color offerings, here are some quick snaps that I just took at the Verizon store. The blue is actually a little nicer than I had thought. But for me, the real knockout is the coral.

I'm disappointed in the blue. It looks boring. Second year in a row Samsung gives us an uninspiring blue variant.

I'd go with the coral or black.

My biggest fear is the fingerprint sensor being janky. From what I've seen so far, early impressions are that it isn't great; especially since it was touted that it could be used with wet or oily fingers. Also, I'm iffy on the pill cutout. It looks like an eyesore that ruins an otherwise gorgeous, bright screen.

Next, the reception and call quality. I currently have a Nexus 6P, but I did end up getting a V30 last spring, thinking I'd be set because I loved the quad DAC. Nope, the radios were terrible, and LG's UI is hideous, not to mention their pittance of a theme store, when compared to Samsung.

Lastly, I'm concerned battery life won't live up to the hype of its capacity; especially in standby mode. I've seen an early battery test with the Exynos variant where it came out on top with 7:30 of SOT from simulated "real world use", but since I'm in the US, the SD 855 is it. This would be my first Samsung phone since the S3, which I hated, so the fact that I'm willing to try it again, I have high expectations.

Ok, wow. Thanks for these shots! The "Flamingo Pink" is stunning, with that gold trim. While the others were nice, I thought the colors were standard. The pink pops. I'm sold! And yes, it does look coral to my eye. I love your polish, too. 😊

No need to worry about that. Trust me, I'm a doctor...

...of philsophy. :( But in physics so not entirely irrelevant in this case. Ultrasonic waves aren't radiation, they're sound waves. Perfectly harmless to human physiology, probably even to your ear since your eardrum can't perceive anything above 20 kHz, which I imagine is well below the range of the sound waves used by the FPS.

My wife was the hand model. Thanks though.
