Whatsapp from iOS to Android

Hey guys,

I just made the switch from iPhone to Android (Samsung Note 20 Ultra). I backed up my whatsapp chat (7gb) on my iPhone to iCloud and switched my SIM card to my Note. When I opened whatsapp on my Note to restore the backup, it only gave me an option to restore from Google Drive.

Anyone knows how to restore from iCloud? Thank you!

While I am not a Whatsapp user, I think that the problem has to do with the fact that iCloud cannot be accessed by an Android device.

My suggestion would be to use an Apple iPhone or another Apple device (iPad or MacBook)...download the Backup of your Whatsapp data to the device and then upload the Whatsapp data to Google Drive.

And since I am not a Whatsapp user, if there is an easier way for someone to make the conversion, please jump in.

Whatsapp messages from Iphone to Android - is it really impossible?

Hi, I am using an Iphone & I want to get away from it to Android. So I tried the whole export of a conversation on a message on the Iphone, then uninstalled, reinstalled Whatsapp on the android. I downloaded the Whatsapp exported message from email but it does not import into Whatsapp again.
Whatsapp tell me that it's not possible. There is a payable app out there from Mobiletrans but i would really like to avoid paying & I don't know if it will really do the work of moving from one to the other especially if the message is large.
Any ideas out there? Thanks

Hi, thanks for the responses. Bobobo3, I read the instructions however it doesn't fully work. When you uninstall, reinstall Whatsapp & click restore, it does not add the downloaded chat history into Whatsapp so you are still left without the conversation to that contact...
