When phone is locked, how can i get the screen to come on when i get a message

I used to have a galaxy s3. When the screen was locked, I received a text message the screen would turn on and show part of the message. Does the LG g4 have that option?

If you have the "okay Google" feature turned on, then simply speak, "okay Google, read me that message" or even "okay Google, read me my notifications."
