Can't wait to read the reviews! I was actually considering the Pixel 2 (small version) but hesitate only because of the price and battery size. Hopefully reading the reviews will help me determine what steps to take.

based on the AC review today, smaller Pixel has better Display than XL and both batteries are better bc of SD835 than last year's pixel.

Yup, that seems to be the consensus (mostly) of the reviews I've read - 4 so far. Though Android Police liked the XL screen more than the others did.

I was kind of hoping Savov would have written this review since he came down so hard on the V30. I enjoy Dieter Bohn's reviews, but he's kind of a Google fanboy (by Verge standards, at least), which is probably why I like him. Actually, I just noticed in the Comments that Savov is promising to throw some shade, so Dieter's 8.5 might get whittled down to a straight 8 "soon."

Very excited by these reviews. And for the people freaking out about a screen that's not super-saturated, just turn on "vivid display" mode and you'll be fine.

Most seem pretty impressed with the XL battery life, and say the Pixel battery life is also OK/improved, but less than the XL.

Phone Arena has a battery test with Pixel compared to Pixel 2. Pixel 2 is ~1hr improvement, Pixel 2 XL is ~1.5hr improvement.

I believe you mean display? All reviews of the camera say its incredible, but the display is bad.
