I want to mention that I hate Best Buy more than any other retail company out there. Don't get me started in the Nexus S launch. Oy.
The costco I spoke with said that they were expecting about 36 xooms to be in stock.
That's awesome. The Costco in my area has a big pallet full of Galaxy tabs on the top shelf, above the wireless kiosk. What's cool is not everyone knows that they'll be at Costco (except us geeks) so they may not sell out so fast. I'm glad I already have a membership.
In terms of insurance plans, the big difference is that Verizon's has a $129 deductible, whereas Best Buy has no deductible. You can do what you said, by activating service for the sole purpose of the insurance (assuming they don't catch you), but the combination of that one month ($10) and the deductible already puts you $30 over the cost of the one year Best Buy insurance policy (the real one, not the standard one).Just so you know for those that are worried about ordering yours through Verizon. If you are paying monthly then you are on contract even if it expires at the end of every month. So if anything happens to your xoom you should be covered. You may have to have current service, activate your service and then make the claim.. now this is technically cheating the system...
