Which carbon fiber skin is better dbrand or slickwrap?

Are you saying that slickwrap would prevent a dent to phone if dropped? That's what I take from your reply.

Take that statement with a grain(s) of salt. I'm sure they don't protect from dents or drops other than scuff marks, and surely it does not protect the screen (360º).

It offers wayyyy more protection than dbrand I can say that and I believe you have a BETTER chance of being protected from a minor drop and scratches with it as it covers more of the phone than dbrand wrap.

It covers the top and side corners Where dbrand doesn't

Exactly why I asked. Seems slickwrap overselling the benefits of carbon wrap. Can prevent scratches but extreme of slickbrand to even insinuate there brand would have done anything to prevent a dent. Also extreme to state 360 when glass is almost half of device and offers no protection. Feels like some cheer leading going on here too.

Well I can say this I had a carbon fiber on my iPhone a while back and dropped it with a glass screen protector the carbon fiber wrap covered the corners and it prevented damage from the phone this is of course a minor drop. But I believe the point I am trying to make is there is a better chance of protector from minor wear and tear over dbrand because slick wraps does cover about 30% more of the phone than dbrand. Dbrand offers more customization though so, if you aren't worried about protection from scratches and minor drops and want customization than dbrand is your better option. For someone like me where my phone is in a pocketbook I need more coverage where slickwraps offers that. Both brands make quality skins it all depends what you prefer. But I don't think you should be so hard on the 360 coverage he was talking to me (not selling a sales pitch where he needs to be cautious on what he's saying) and if you prefer dbrand there is still no denying that slickwraps covers more.

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

Jeez you guys are like the lawyers in here lol gotta choose words wisely or you'll send someone straight to the electric chair. Relax. We are talking about carbon fiber wraps here and giving constructive reviews on the products.

Thanks for the comparison! If anyone knows this, it'd be great; I use the promo dock/ charger LG sent out a few months ago, would this interfere with that? It's one of the reasons I no longer use the QC case...

Sorry for the delayed response. No it won't interfere !! I wireless charge myself and has worked through both skins and a case even on top of it :)

Just trying to keep the embellishments down to a minimum. I think this thread became way off topic, lol.

If you are referring to me I take great offense to that. I am not cheerleading to either company I am simply stating my opinion on a thread I created. I have stated numerous times that both brands provide great quality wraps.

Let me reiterate so there's no confusion and I'm not mistaken for some cheerleader.

Dbrand:
Pros- customization, sticks great with lots of heat, comes with spares and lots of options (precision cut) looks amazing when mixing colors, cheaper
Cons- does not cover top, bottom, full sides or top of front of phone. Slow shipping and takes forever to get an email back from them.

Slickwraps:
Pros- provides much MORE coverage (NOT 360 BUT CLOSE), lots of options (wood or carbon or leather material), great quality and customer service with fast shipping.
Cons- needs lots of heating up to make it stick and still some types may peel off easier than other materials (leather vs carbon), can't customize colors and doesn't come with as many spares.

For someone like me the pros out way the cons for slickwraps. Dbrand is not a bad company or makes bad wraps, it is up to you to decide what fits your needs best. I enjoy both wraps but based off my experience I prefer slickwraps.

So, if you call me a cheerleader one more time ill be forced to bash my pom pom into your stubborn little head :) lol

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

Is residue left on when you peel these things off? How are they sticking to the phone?

No residue was left on either brand and they both stuck very well. Dbrand doesn't cover the side panels they have something called precision fit which will go around the back to the sides that stuck perfectly the slickwraps side panel wrap begins to peel after a while bc it's not attached to anything and the curves make it hard to stick completely with use. The slickwraps top bottom front and back stuck wonderfully.
