Which carbon fiber skin is better dbrand or slickwrap?

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

I had slickwrap on a prior phone and didn't care for it. It starting peeling off at the corners, then edges. Wanted phone to have sleek look instead after only a few weeks it looked like ghetto phone. Just picked up a case when I got my G3.

Yeah I am worried it's going to start to peel off myself. I do like the skin look though.

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

Make sure to really heat up the edges. The LGG3 is a really tough phone on the edges to wrap, even with our extreme precision it was a real challenge. Enjoy!!

Btw, shipping was FAST! Good job USPS!

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

Thank you! I liked the white g3 but I like symmetry so I thought this was a good balance between the two hehe

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

any luck on dbrand yet I have only ever used them and am debating between them and slickwraps for my newly purchased used g3

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

I'm interested in the comparison too. I've been "skin curious" for a while now. I generally use cases, but if I could get a good fitting wrap which adds grip (most important) then I might have to try one. It would be nice to at least cover up the logos on the front - although they are small I still like the look of a "blank" front (like on my old Nexus).

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

I feel bad for BriannaMarie because when she does get the dbrand ones she'll have to pull off the slickwraps to put them on. :(

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

On a whim, I traded my Note 4 for my LG G3 (+$100), and I'm so glad I did. In-hand feel is much smaller than the Note 4 despite being only 0.2" smaller in screen size. Also, I think I've finally gotten to the point where Touchwiz lag is unbearable. I decided on the dbrand skin based on my previous experience on having one installed on my Moto X (2013). I only went with the back and accents and didn't get the front because it seemed too unbalanced since they only offer a skin for the chin. Should have mine in the mail today or tomorrow. I'll also post pics and opinions.

Slickwraps

Nice job on monitoring the forums. FYI, I would've probably tried Slickwraps if it were possible to mix and match the accents with the body skins, and if I would've known that the big "SW" logo in the pics on the web page were not actually part of the skin on the chin piece. Until briannamarie91 posted her pics of her Slickwraps, I just assumed that there was a big "SW" logo on the chin piece as shown in the webpage pictures.

Slickwraps

I could understand a company doing this for something like the HTC One where it has tons of bezel on the top and bottom. but this phone is just so much screen there's no place for logos!

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

My dbrand skin came in yesterday (Friday-got the shipping notification on Monday). Easy application and great look and feel. I wish the edges were more rounded but that is a small complaint.

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

So here is my dbrand skin. Packaging was nice, shipping was slow. Quality is very nice and it came with many options and spares. All in all, both companies make very good quality skins. They each have their pros and cons to them. I like that slickwraps covers more of the phone but dbrand seems to stick more.

Re: dbrand or slickwrap?

Just applied the white carbon fiber on my white G3 and I love it! No more case for me! One question though... Do the sides smooth out over time? They are kind of sharp right now. Just don't want them peeling off.

Should say this in the packaging as mine started peeling after 2 weeks use and just messaged slickwraps, now i have to pay for shipping to get a replacement...

Thanks for the comparison! If anyone knows this, it'd be great; I use the promo dock/ charger LG sent out a few months ago, would this interfere with that? It's one of the reasons I no longer use the QC case...
