Which features will Verizon block on the Note 3?

Just can't comprehend the logic behind disabling screen scroll and removing a wifi toggle. I guess they could be hoping people aren't smart enough to download a wifi widget so they are stuck using data. Shame they have best speed and coverage here in Arizona. Jenks.

I defend Verizon most cases... But this is one area i agree with.... I think they do it to make room for bloat... They put the most bloat on their phones, so they probably look at little things they can remove to give them a couple hundred MB to put their bloat on.. I couldn't see them doing it just because..

Just an educated guess.

They do it because they're megalomaniacal ***holes
I know the removed the call blocker, because they have their own pay for service. People rumored that the remove of WiFi toggle was to consumers use more data. I think most people just did like the persistent notification.

Actually call blocking is a free service on Verizon, but you can only block up to 5 phone numbers at a time but you can do it across all of your mobile #'s. I had to do it once and it was quite effective.

im really hoping the 4x4 calender widget comes back i loved it on my s3 then on the note 2 it was gone. i use my phone to run my two businesses and have two email accounts and spend 3 hours or more on the phone . not to mention all the texts and emails. I really feel the note series of phones are the best device for what i do and it bothers the crap out of me that verizon screws with functions.

Those of you who have Verizon, are you happy with them overall? On a scale between 1-10, with 10 being excellent? I'm seriously considering jumping from Sprint to Verizon, but am a little nervous, because although I've heard reliability is trait Verizon has, they also might be an arrogant company who use the fact they are the "#1" carrier to take advantage of customers. And just how much bloatware are we talking in regards to Verizon phones?

I'd give them a 7/10. Hard to compare though since I haven't been on other carriers. Reception has been good, good 4G coverage. Company seems arrogant, every few months seems to come out with a new rule to try to make it harder to hold on to grandfathered unlimited data. They used to replace phones on the spot in the stores, no more, have to call on phone to get warranty replacement phones. CSR's on commission, seem to take advantage of non-tech savy customers. Had a coworker go into store to get battery for GNex that wouldn't hold charge anymore. Refused to sell her a battery and sold her on a new phone/plan/2 year commitment and tried to take away her unlimited data. Expect to wait 6 months after Android updates to trickle to you, limited phone model choices that have to be specific for Verizon. When T-mobile's 4G improves coverage and if they tighten screws enough that I lose unlimited data I'm gone.

it depends whats important to you . for me the over all network reliability far out weighs the bloat or the greedy practices they employ . the bloat is really no worse than AT&T . but im a full on business user that lives and dies by my phone. it absolutely must work damn near all the time 100% . ive tried all carriers and only att comes close to verizon whenever it comes to network reliability and in my experience there a distant second . i would give them based on my use a 8 or 9 .

I would rate them a 5 out of 10 due to poor CS and not caring about their customers, arrogance, removing or locking out programs that other carriers leave on and always being the last to get phones and updates to those phones.

I have a great experience with Verizon. I've always gotten great customer support from them. They even offered me a plan with my last upgrade that is priced equivalent to what I'd pay for basically the same plan with T-Mobile: $60 for unlimited voice/unlimited text/2GB data. Sure, with T-Mobile it's technically 2.5GB of high-speed data after which I'd be throttled, but Verizon's coverage is worth the trade off for my usage. Normally with Verizon, the plan I am getting would be $100, so I'm getting a $40 discount.

I have a hard time recommending Verizon to new customers, though, because their plans for new customers are so expensive. But if you're willing to pay...

And if you're on Sprint, you'll probably have about the same amount of bloat on your phone with Verizon as you're used to with Sprint.

I have been on Verizon forever and here is my personal breakdown on how I would rate them.

Coverage/QOS: 9/10 - No one is perfect but they rank highest
LTE Coverage & Speeds: 9/10 & 7/10 - This is split because they have the most LTE coverage, BUT they do not have the fastest LTE (in my market anyways AT&T IS MUCH FASTER)
Customer Service: 7-8/10 - For the most part I have always had very good customer service. I have run into the occasional unhelpful misinformation but that happens.
Device Selection: 5-6/10 - They do offer the latest hardware and on par with many other carriers, but they lock the devices down, restrict access to features the tech community wants and bloatware!!!
Overall I would give them about a 7-8/10

I hope that helps from a long time customer.
