which format for Micro SD card to read off of tablet and Macbook Pro

Hi all,
Got THE tablet the other day and received a samsung 16gb micro. I want to transfer movie files from my only laptop which is a macbook pro over to the sd card and into the 10.1 but I cant seem to figure out which format to format the sd card to to allow it to read/write on both laptop and tablet? The options thats available for me to transfer is MS-Dos (fat), exFat, Tuxera NTFS, and there is Mac OS extended (journaled, case sensitive journaled, case sensitive). I tried exFat and i was able to transfer over BUT my tablet would not recognize the files.

Any suggestion on which one to chose when formatting to save me trouble of formatting many times. It takes about 20-30 min to format it

Update: I was able to transfer files over to a samsung 16gb micro fine but I picked up a PNY class 10 32gb yesterday and it keeps giving me this message: "the operation cant be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0.)" This is when i try to transfer files that are about 5gb and bigger. Files that are smaller will transfer fine. I formatted the 32 gb the same way/specs as the 16gb yet still same message....

driving me nutz!?!
