Which is fastest/stable ginger-sense ROM?

If you have trouble after flashing like any FC's or stuck on splash screen it is because something from your prior ROM was left behind so do the following:

  1. Pull battery if necessary
  2. Make sure your on hboot .92
  3. Make sure your on CWM 3x or higher
  4. Enter recovery
  5. Wipe cache on main menu
  6. Wipe dalvik in advanced
  7. Format data, system, and cache in mounts
  8. Re-Flash ROM from SD Card
  9. ReBoot
Problems can also occur if you are restoring data with Titanium or automatically with Google.

Restoring through Google wasn't something I was trying to do, it just started after flashing a ROM, I forget which, after I checked "Keep this device backed up with Google". So far I haven't had any problems...and it seems like the only thing it restores data wise is my bookmarks. All the apps it automatically downloads are apps only and require me to re-sign into, or re-set up.

I will try that later today. Hopefully it will work because your ROMs are definately some of the best.

Thanks for the fix!

Just flashed Nils GingerSense 3.0 - it's absolutely awesome. Still working on battery life, but to be honest, I haven't put my phone down and haven't stopped customizing, so it's getting a workout. Another 'new' phone :-)

I flashed the modules and Setcpu from the original XDA thread and followed the instructions and didn't really see that much of an improvement. Granted, I keep my screen up to max bright, auto sync all lot of stuff, keep my Exchange mail set to push at peak and off peak times. With all that in mind, at around the 4:30 mark for awake time I'm usually at like 15% on the battery. Pretty average I've found with a Sense based ROM and for all the crap I keep going in the background.

Wow...you keep your DInc pretty busy. Whew!

Ok, now my battery life doesn't seem all that bad :-)

(But not much better!)

I think 4:30 minutes of awake time and 12-13 hr's of up time is pretty good. Don't remember if I posted it in this thread or another but my buddy and I who work together compare batt percentage and his iPhone 4 is never more than a few % away from mine.

Yeah that is pretty good. I keep going back and forth between my OEM 1500 and 2150! I ran with the 1500 for a good while until this paste weekend when I was out of town and wouldn't always be near a charger.

Anyone still using Nils Business Gingersense 3.0 v2.2? I'm a faithful devotee but I've come across either a bug or something that just isn't in the Gingerbread/Sense 3.0 UI. When I'm online looking up a customer service phone number, I used to be able to just tap the number and it would pop it into the dialer ready for me to hit the "call" button. Same thing with another app of mine that has phone numbers galore in it that I used to be able to just tap and "presto"..there it is in the dialer. I seemed to have lost that function.

Is that a setting I have missed in the dialer itself or is it just not in the OS anymore?

I use GO Dialer EX and I tried it and it worked for me as you described. Not sure about the native dialer, though, I'll try it again when I get a chance.

Im still using Nils Buisness GingerSense 3.0v2.2.I tried what you mentioned did a search for sears in the charlotte area a list of sears stores showed (screen shot below, number shown as link in blue ). I was able to touch the phone number and it went to my dialer like Im used to it doing(second screenshot) .I havent confiqured default dialer in any special way
And then going to the actuall sears webpage for that store(3rd screenshot)which stilll shows the number (in blue) as a link to their phone number

Thanks for checking my sanity davidnc.

I restored to a nandroid of the Community sense 3.0 ROM and it's doing the same...that is to say, not automatically putting the number in the dialer. I also switched to the standard touch input keyboard rather than the Gingerbread kb thinking that was the issue but still no luck.

This seems like such a basic function of a smartphone (even my POS BB Storm used to do it) I can't imagine why mine won't do it anymore, I don't think I've changed any special settings.

Nils, I know your busy putting out the next update, but since this is your ROM (Business Gingersense 3.0 v2.2) do you have any thoughts?

I am having an issue with Nils Business Gingersense 2.3.3 where I get an incoming phone call and I can't unlock the screen to answer the call, it just freezes. I tried dragging the lock screen and nothing at all. As soon as the call drops and I get the missed call notification, then I can unlock the screen. Any thoughts on why this is happening?

Are you trying to just drag the lock ring straight up or are you using the phone icon that you touch, then drag down into the lock ring?

I have tried both methods when this happens and neither one works.

Hmmm I will test that out too,, once Im back home(my incredible's at home) Im curious now . I usually use the "no lock app" on my phone(s) but I am curiuous about that now

Sorry to say I haven't ever had that problem so I don't know exactly how to fix it. You could try a "Repair Permissions" in Clockwork Recovery. If you boot into recovery I think its the last option on the main screen with the orange typeface.

Or, as Pville suggested I do, go to Menu, Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All, find the dialer and Phone apps, and maybe any lockscreen apps like HTC Lockscreen and clear any cache's.

Have you tried switching lockscreen styles, like instead of using the default "wallpaper" maybe going to "weather" or "Clock" or something different...or maybe just re-arranging the icons that are on the main lockscreen.
