Which phone are you upgrading to (if you are)?

Download speed isn't all there is to the internet, in fact far from it.

At any rate...
Web pages are not large, so any form of broadband is plenty fast to download a 100k webpage, much less a 1k Tapatalk page. I was on Tapatalk today on 1x and it worked fine until I came to pictures.

Download a 100meg file and you could be talking several seconds difference between 3g and 4g, but switch to small web pages and are talking a difference measured in thenths of a second. This is exactly why most people on Wimax rarely turn it on. By the time you turn it on and connects, you already spent more time than it saves.

You can also say people are speed hungry, and they are, but if you hook an OV to a fiber optic internet, it won't go any faster, the processor simply can't render pages any faster. An Evo 3d will render faster, but even still, the pages aren't that big to begin with.

I agree. But carrier will continue to present speed as a necessity to smart phone. But overall, I can't wait to see what slight tweak VM did. Minimal bloatware is what I hope it has. But I'm blowing wind

Wats wrong wit the triumph an slider?

Slider is an OV with a keyboard added. It's the same processor OC'd by default to 800 mhz. In my testing, an overclocked OV actually out performs the Slider. The Slider also has little to no dev support and radio issues. It's not a good phone.

Lol Twas the day before xmax.. Oh I will.. But you hit on a point and I went there with LeslieAnn and she shut me down.. Simply put there is nothing that compares today and it's a current handset worthy of a contract.. The OV was never close to that the Triumph.. Not. $$ will dictate choice and if your not a big user of handsets there no point... It's a big toy to me so it all depends on how you look at it.. BIG TOY GOOD!!

I am officially a new owner of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4g Touch.

Just wanted to thank all of you for making the OV experience a good one. For those getting the Evo, I hope you really like it and good luck to you!

Oh Nice handset and I hope it serves you well.. Enjoy and good luck..

I still want the One V if Virgin Mobile eventually gets it but I might pick up the Optimus Elite next week.

Thanks! It's simply amazing. I'm still in shock a little that I chose it over the Galaxy Nexus. The S2 just felt so much better in the hand and the expandable storage really sold me since I'd like to store a lot of movies and games on this phone, something a cloud can't do.

Hm LeslieAnn made a good point, now that I think about it! A webpage doesn't load any faster on a good 3G connection than a good 4G one. Which, I think, means that you have to consider 4G to be mainly useful for unlimited plans. Since Virgin throttles down our data to 1x after 2.5GB anyways, it's not going to make a huge difference if you're on a limited data plan.

So that actually raises an interesting point. I currently own and use an OV. I have no plans to switch to an unlimited data plan. That said, would the One V be worth upgrading to? What do you guys think
