Which phone are you upgrading to (if you are)?

Im a grandfathered customer and I dont want to give that up.3D most likely will not come out until after May 27. The One V may have a chance to come out before that date and if so, I will probably dive on that phone and screw the optimus elite. If none of them do I will have a difficult decision of staying on the OV or upgrading to triumph or spending more money and getting the evo 3D thus losing the cheapest cell phone plan in the world. I also heard that the triumph is gonna get an ics update so that could sway my decision.

I have a qeustion on the one v. Since there is no battery case on that phone, what if it freezes one day. How can I hard reset it?

I'll likely keep the V for awhile and see how things pan out.

I want to know what phones are coming out when, what devs are going for them, and if I'll be able to keep my grandfathered plan with them. And the initial problems (I have a feeling the One V is going to be the triumph dud nightmare all over again...), and the price. All those factors will decide which phone I'll get.

The thing is, the EVO 3D already has a ton of ROMs for it (ICS, CM7, MIUI, the list goes on) and if I'm not mistaken, these can easily be ported to the VM version with little more then some libs and a radio swap. Correct me if I'm wrong there, because I probably am.

If none of the factors for the 2 new VM phones are in my favor, I'll probably get a SGS 2 on T-Mobile prepaid. What I would like to know, however, is how easy it would be to use SGS 2 post paid T-Mobile ROMs on the prepaid version.

That's my .02 cents. Can anyone answer any of those questions?

I'm sticking with the OV. I can live with throttling on my current plan, but at $35/month and $300ish for the phone, I see no point in upgrading for two weeks of 4G and 2 weeks of sub 256kbps per billing cycle.

They already ported the Virgin Mobile ICS/Sense rom, over to the Sprint phone (someone got ahold of a copy and ported it).

I don't think they are even doing a radio update, if they did, it won't matter for long, the Sprint phone is going to get the same update (it's already expected). Basically, the only problem with porting back and forth is mms. We already have working patches for CM7, CM9, MIUI, AOKP, and AOSP.

I'm planning on getting a galaxy nexus on T-Mobile prepaid, but I love this community... might get the onev or evo just to play with and to stay with this group.

There is no difference in the roms. Unlike VM T-Mo's prepaid phones are no different from the prepaid phones.

I would like to say this. If the HTC One V is anything like its siblings it should be a decent phone. I dont think HTC is in the business of rebadging phones like Moto did with the Triumph.

I agree.
The only real question will be how hard it is to root.
Otherwise, I think it will probably be one of the best phones on Virgin.

i badly wanted One V and it got really good reviews too(only common cons were non-replaceable battery and poor browsing speed). pros are long battery life and snappy ICS performances. then it was rumored that evo 3D was getting ICS so i got excited for that one(due to extended battery out in the market).

in the end i decided to keep using OV so i can keep the $25 plan. i'm still waiting for the wimax and pricing announcement from VM.

I'm thinking, there is a possibility, that I will get the HTC Evo 3D, or the Triumph.
LeslieAnn I'm sure that you have the Evo, is it even worth rooting? If so, I'm sure overclocking is pretty much useless right?

PS. I'll never outgrow my optimus V, I love this phone! <3

VM will probably throw on their bloatware so we will want to root. Also there's lots of apps that use root that are cool, and if you want anything other than sense 4 you want root. I personally want vanilla ics.

Think I might look into the One V or the Evo. I don't have 4g in my area so right now I'm leaning toward the One V.

If Sprint has quit developing WiMax I don't guess my area will be getting any 4g service through Virgin Mobile?

Google Galaxy Nexus unlocked on T-Mobile.
Me, too. It lacks the built-in expansion but does everything else I want a phone to do with a screen I can see. The Optimus V is an amazing device for the $$, but my Sprint signal is getting worse (even on our pure Sprint phones) where I live (we've regressed 10 years in reception). It's time to try gsm and T-Mobile is the best choice in my area. I'm tired of contracts which is why I tried Virgin Mobile.

I will get a 3D about a month after it comes out so I Have a choice of ROMs and whatnot for it.

I've never used Sense so IDK if it's any good or not. But I will root and change it to something else. I kind of want just ICS or CM9 ICS for that matter. I'm quite fond of CM and the ability to hold the back button and kill a app.

And this phone will come with ICS, since we have that leaked ROM. Though I wonder how they got the ROM ever before the phone is even out.

I wouldn't Get the One V honestly. The Evo 3D has much better specs and the One V doesn't even have a forward facing camera. The 3D is dual core 1.2, much better than the One V. Much better hardware in my mind.

Well hopefully I can get my back-pay for the raise I am expecting by May 31st when the 3D comes out. At $300 I can't pass up a only 1 year old phone.
