OKAY....so I'm taking the plunge on this ROOTING thing, but I have no idea what ROM I would like to use. the person remotely rooting for me can flash any ROM I want, but I have to decide. Sense 3.5 infected , liquid smooth 3.2, and cm9 are what I'm juggling now. I would just like to know what YOU guys, who have probably tried every ROM out there, think about my three choices, and if you would recommend any others. thanks in advance!!

cm9? I hope you like using the phone on wifi only.

I've been running CM7 since july or so now and it's been wonderful. 1000x more stable than the HTC bull .

I run Liquid. For me its been the most stable and fully functional ROM Ive used. Its also very fast and well "smooth". Everything else Ive used has either been laggy, some bad some not so bad. Most other Non "Sense" or ASOPs seem to always have some function missing that I need.

Liquid hits the mark.

You have to decide what you want. Do you want a SENSE ROM (BAMF, Gingeritis, Infected, iKream etc) or do you want a plain "vanilla" (ASOP) Rom like CM7. With CM7, you won't get the SENSE GUI but a lot of people running CM7 also use GoLauncher or Launcher Pro or ADW Launcher. The thing with CM7 is that it is a small ROM (90mb vs. 300mb with SENSE).

I have ran all of BAMF's ROM's....stable and amazing. I have ran Gingeritis and liked it. I ran Infected Eternity for about 3 months and only have recently switched to iKREAM....I like this ROM a lot.

The thing with ROOTING is that you can flash all the ROMS you want and decided what works for you. When you get tired of that one....back it up and install another one. Like I said, I have ran at least a dozen ROMS (all SENSE...other than CM7 for a few days) and with the ones I listed above, you can't go wrong.

There are more SENSE ROMS out there than the ones I have used that are probably just as good and stable. It is all a matter of what you are looking for.

The only rom I've ever run in which everything just works is Bamf Forever 1.10 or 1.11

thanks to everyone for the replies so far. I believe infected eternity comes with the Sense 3.5 (halfcab123.com) and I saw videos of it on youtube, which is very cool. they also do Liquid smooth as well, but i want to make sure that all of my functions will still be there (sms, data, 3G, 4G, etc). I really liked the way Liquid smooth looks, but can't really find out if all functions are working from anywhere on the Net. Once I do this, I will probably leave it for at least two months, until I learn how to Flash a new rom without blowing up my phone.....;)

Tried it. Found bulletproof. Not so bulletproof, flashing failed twice!!

SMS, MMS, 3G, and 4G work with Liquid. If you have any other functionality questions, post em up. Ill try my best to get back to you.

I honestly dont have anything bad to say about any of the BAMF roms, outside of some very slight lag in some of the more advanced Sense variants. However the support they have for thier ROMS is phenominal.

Im sticking with Liquid for now but I always keep my eye on what BAMF is doing.

I'm getting the feeling that a lot of people like the BAMF roms, but what I saw on youtube with liquid on the Tbolt blew me away. it literally looked "liquid smooth". once I get rooted, I will hit you up if I have any issues. liquid seems to be leading my choices right now.

BTW, has anyone ever heard of Chris ridgeway from Halfcab123.com? apparently the roots they have done (for a fee) have been awesome, and they have a few really hot videos on youtube. link below:

I'm running the latest infected rom nightly. Super stable. Super fast. Great battery life. Love it. Using mr3 radio and the latest ziggy kernel (comes bundled with Rom). Can't recommend it highly enough. Bounce over to their forum and check it out.

If you flash bamf you will need new kernel. It's the best ROM at the moment with imoseyons kernel. G3d is the best out of the box however.

I would recommend UpstreamMiami for rooting assistance; fee free (last time I read the thread) and highly regarded.

You can find the thread here.

I'm running liquid mainly because it gives me the best battery life. The only issue I have is that whenever I'm playing music through my phone while I'm using it, you get a crackling noise. Doesn't happen all the time, but it isn't rare either.

Have you tried messing with the DSP Manager?

Liquid Smooth is very smooth. No lag between home screen transitions, lock screen, app drawer scroll...that sort of thing. Honestly its why I havent switched back to BAMF or tried another ROM in awhile.

Im waiting to see what the developers do with ICS, thatll be my next jump.

I think Liquid is rock solid also. BAMF is great for stability. Infected is bleeding edge, but stable. I have a question though, when I ran liquid 3.2 I had issues with playing flash video in the browser. I know there is a fix for that but I couldn't find it anywhere. Can someone help a brotha out?

Glad I came across this Post.
I was about to ask the same question.
I'm looking for a ROM that's stable, and everything works.
I'm Rooted running stock Sense UI. I'm getting tired of the lag.
