Whitestone Dome for the Note 9 - How is yours holding up?

Mine is showing the cracked "spiderweb" effect all down the right edge. Waiting for it to get unbearable, then I'll take this one off and use the backup (ordered the two pack). If THAT doesn't last, I've got a cheap non tempered glass, plastic film wet apply type as a last resort.

Installed in October. Watched a couple of YouTube guides...installation absolutely no problem, perfect application. No problem since, like new. Prior to that I used the Amfilm (I think it was called) which managed about a month before dust got underneath. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

I had the same issue of small spider web like scratches along the right edge curve of the screen, heavier towards the bottom than the top. That was within the first 2 days installed. Within a week both sides are showing the same effect. It isn't cracks, can only see it in the correct angle of light, and more prominent when in strong daylight. I also have the Galaxy LED Cover, and if is not a problem with function or screen view. It may get bad over time. The part that irritates me is that the Whitestone was best in most all reviews, and I was really impressed with the installation system, what a let down to see these within days off installation.

Just my two cents and experience.

I've posted before about the Whitestone Note 9 screen protectors and they all exhibit spider cracking towards the edges. In most applications it happens within a few days.

I've installed 6 on my note 9 and have claimed warranty on each. So far Whitestone will just say it's an installation issue but I disagree.

I just installed the Roopose Note 9 competitor to Whitestone available on Amazon and the installation was perfect. Time will tell if it spider cracks but so far it's looking very good.

The glue is not nearly as hard/brittle after it is cured and their instructions show how you can use the edge tool to add glue as needed before curing.

Got tired of how my Whitestone protector looked. Bought this two pack at Walmart for less than $7.

I should probably have said that I realize this screen protector is not nearly as durable as a tempered glass protector. I take care of my phones and this protector is mainly to protect from micro scratches from being in my pocket (lint and such).
It went on ridiculously easy, no bubbles and looks almost invisible. No lint or dust sticking to the edges like Whitestone.

I got an $8.00 Flea Market tempered glass. I got it so I would at least have something until I figured out which quality protector I wanted. It's only sticky on the top & bottom, & there is no guide so it was a pain to line up. It works well with my case. I'm going to continue using it unless I have a problem.

Update, so after a bit of back and forth with Samsung and ending up getting a replacement phone, I have installed the second of the two pack I originally bought. I did one thing different this time vs the last. After the first install I noticed I could smell the glue for what seemed like days maybe even a while week. I thought it maybe had been trapped in my Samsung led cover, but eventually realized that the spider cracking along the curve edges was probably because the stuff didn't cure enough. This time I finished the installation and immediately put the phone outside in some direct sunlight for about 20 min. Didn't even turn the phone back on until after that cure time, so I wouldn't be tempted to touch and possibly flex the screen during the curing. I think the result is much better this time. 5 days and no spidering on the edges. And I couldn't smell the glue an hour after installation. I think this points to the UV light device supplied with the cover system is just not adequate for proper curing.

So how is the Roopose turning out? All of my WSD have spider cracked like you guys are talking about (3 protectors I think I've gone through) but didn't realize that's what it was called and just assumed that's "what happens" with the LD screen protectors. I saw the roopose and am curious but they don't have a stand alone website and I can't find anything out about them.

Very interesting hypothesis - I'm getting ready to order a 2 pack at 35% off (hallelujah back to school sale) and think I will try this daylight trick. I'm also curious about the Roopose competitor but can't find anything out about them and their video tutorials look way sketchier.

Another update, just to be thorough, since the the time of my post you quoted I have had the same spidering effect start in the glue under the screen protector. It is at the outside edges, and does not impact performance that I can tell, and is only minimally noticeable with the screen off and at the correct angle of light. It does appear to be progressing slowly, so maybe at some point it will become a problem and need to be replaced.

All things considered, I think it's a good screen, it has taken a few drops and slides and does not have a scratch, the screen cleans well and the installation is nice with the supplied kit. Just make sure you are on a nice level surface when you do this, I mean perfectly level so the glue flow is uniform. I thought I was close enough with the second install and the flow of glue up to the top wasn't the best, it may be thinner up there than at the bottom. And this area is were there spidering effect is happening now.

I have the Note 9 and a Whitestone tempered glass installed. The stock glue has curing issues that it does not cure fully, so u will get spidering or lifting on edge. So I found a alternate solution or workaround as u may term it..

PROBLEM : Stock Whitestone loca glue not curing fully. Spider webs on edge of screen or lifting problems

SOLUTION: Buy LOCA Glue vials from AliExpress branded LAMRONEA. This loca glue cures very fast and adheres beautifully and has no lifting issues on edges or any other areas of the glass.

The attached picture is proof of it. 6 months since October 2019 that I had installed the dome glass with the glue from AliExpress and
today in March 2020 as well there is stilll NO SPIDER WEBS or LIFTING at all.

I am very happy with it. This is only to help others. I do not endorse it for free or for money. I simply wanted to share the fix with all facing issues with dome glass.
