Whitestone Dome for the Ultra has Blue Light Cut ?

The installation cradle quality has gone way down. Before, it was VERY hard to NOT line things up pretty perfectly. With the N20U cradle, the first time I applied the glue and set it, I removed the "pin" to let the screen protector settle and it slid down and wasn't seated well and I ended up with a mess. I'm SO HAPPY that I used the damn stickers that came with it to cover the buttons and all that, or I would have had one hell of a mess. Well, more of a mess than I had.

So, I tried again after cleaning things up and the glue didn't have complete coverage. It missed the bottom corner... so... once again, I had to remove and clean things up. I tried using the guide and everything.

I did notice this time around, you really have to pay attention when you insert the white absorbers on each side of the frame because since now you have those black stickers on the side of your phone, the absorbers may push up against that, and as a result, the top frame is not totally seated onto the bottom frame. I think this time the culprit are the black stickers. Before you didn't have them, but now, the white absorbers will push against them when they didn't before, and slightly lifting the top frame.

So, if you don't notice this - and you put the glass down on the bottom part of the frame first, as instructed, the glass may slide through the gap now instead of being held into place with the two triangle guides. To avoid this, you somehow need to make sure there is no gap between the top frame and the bottom frame - and for me, I had to actually use my fingers to keep it down because the absorbers kept pushing it up.

I don't think enough thought went into the stickers and how they play out since now you have stickers and the absorber trying to occupy the same space and it makes it easy for one to not notice that there may be a gap between both frames.

So, I think it's really the addition of the stickers but otherwise the rest is the same. Of course, you're gonna tell me now that you didn't use the black stickers and there was still a gap. LOL

Also, about the coverage - did you wait and wait and wait? They say 80 seconds, but depending on how level your table is and how centered on the marker the glue is when you drop the glass, it may take well more than 80 seconds for full coverage. I am pretty sure I waited like a good 3 or 4 minutes during one of my installs to get full coverage.

The FPS is so much faster for me with the Note 20 U and WSD and far less failures. I've only registered 3 fingers - two thumbs and one index finger and it works very well - much better if your fingers aren't too dry too.

Did the adhesive get in the crevices around the edge of the screen and the speaker grill for you guys? If so, did it harden when cured? I tried the AmFilm screen protector but the adhesive was so runny. Despite the speaker sticker being on perfectly it still got inside that and ran down the sides of my phone, filling the crevice at the edge of the screen as well. Thankfully it didn't harden when cured, it either stayed as a liquid or turned into globs that came out after washing it with water and scraping it with a piece of paper. But I'm worried that the Whitestone installation will just be a repeat of this.

Already feel nervous during and after completely soaking my phone once, but it was the only way to get the adhesive out. Hope I won't have to do that again, or even worse, the adhesive in those crevices hardening when cured.

My install was a whole lot cleaner this year. With my Note8 and Not10+ I noticed it would flood the bottom tray and the sides of the devices. That was not the case this time around. It was definitely cleaner than what you're saying happened with your other protector. There might have been a little bit in the tray, but nowhere near the once I've had in the past.

So I finally got everything for my phone and got the courage to set everything up, including the WSD protector. It didn't go as good or as bad as I thought it would. There is a small bubble on the right side middle due to a fleck of dust. I finally get everything cleaned up and cured the top and bottom 6 times each for a minute each time. Then I start putting the Armadillotek VanGuard case on and the problems started. The top left corner started to lift. I fought to get it back down and then realized that the protector was shifted too high to the top. I had tried to slide it down before curing it as it was covering the camera. Now I'm not sure if I should just leave it or remove it and try to install the second protector. This is why I don't like screen protectors.

I would go ahead and try the second one.
The WSD alignment tray is a little sloppy and the glass can be a little high, low or off to the right or left.
Take a magnifying glass after you drop it, the glue has spread and make sure it is centered before curing. You can move the glass a little before curing. My second one is pretty good but does seem a little high to me.

Couple quick tips... If it's sunny where you are, Apply the protector as instructed by the WSD video, and then let it sit outside under the sun for about 20-30 minutes. If you cannot do that, I would not apply the case until at least 24 hours after it has been fully cured. Maybe even try running the UV light over it a few times, or as much as possible to really make sure the curing process has taken, completely. But I think being outside in the sun (AFTER you apply and cure it in the house!) will really help you solidify and verify the curing process better. Even if you are misaligned by the tiniest bit, any case application before it is securely cured (And still a possibility after the fact) will absolutely cause the glass to lift.

I'm not clear on what the advantage would be to let it sit in the sun verses applying more UV light curing time.

I gave up last night and removed my WSD. The FPS wasn't working at all for me and I often had to press icons several times for the apps to launch. It's a completely different experience without the protector. The FPS works instantly and I have no trouble launching apps. As I'm using the sview cover I'm not all that concerned about scratches. With only a $29 deductible for screen replacement, I'm considering gong without a protector. It's such a pleasure to use the phone as was intended.
