Whitestone Dome Glass $32 (2 pack)

You sure this "Clouding" is not on the glue side of the glass?

Yes I'm sure. It's more of a lasting imprint that stays on the glass and won't come off. Again you can only tell by holding the phone a certain way when the light is reflecting on it.

I've had Whitestone Dome glass on my phones since the S9+ and have never experienced this issue before. Can't tell if it's oil from my cheek on the rare time I answered my phone without ear buds, or if it is oil from my pillow that got on it overnight. It won't come off though.

I'm trying this new glass screen protector from Amazon. So far it's been working great and the fingerprint sensor is also working great. I would say a very slight milli second slower to unlock than without protector, but accuracy has been very good. Also I like that it doesn't have the cutout/notch around the selfie camera that the whitestone dome has. This has a seamless look and extends far enough to the bottom edge that you don't feel the edge when using gesture control at the bottom.

How can it focus a selfie with no cutout?

Same concept as putting a camera lens protector or clear lens filter over the camera. The glass screen protector is completely clear and does not cause any focus or distortion problems what so ever. I'm loving this protector much more than white stone dome that I had on my note 10+.

For those who have removed the WSD protector; any hints as to the easiest and least destructive (for the phone) process? Does a hair dryer work? I have plenty of plastic computer/phone repair tools.

I've removed several with just slowly peeling it off. The glue seems to almost have this gummy nature and removal has been easy in my experience.
No dryer or fancy gymnastics necessary for removal.

100% correct. I have removed plenty of WSD and just pull up very slow from one of the corners and it will come off clean. Just go real slow and take your time peeling it up.

Cool. After my walk I'm about to take, I'll be peeling it back and honestly, no one can imagine how peed off I am about having to remove it. For my thumbs it is working as good as without, index finger hit and miss, was going to rescan but phone going back to Amazon so no use giving it a try. And I hardly ever use my index finger.

Is it me, or was it the phone. Not sure but I'm sure not going to purchase any lotto tickets in the near future.

Removing this was not easy, but it was doable in pieces. At first it was just peel off a small amount, use the plastic pry tool to pop off another piece; then out came the hair dryer and warming it up, helped....

I may just try the AM film on the new phone; that is if the new phone works.

Broke down and ordered a three pack of the AmFilm tempered glass screen protector for my S22 Ultra. Issues with the oleophobic coating on this year's DomeG Glass leaving permanent residue are leadind me to try the AmFilm brand.

Where did you find a 3-pack? Looking on AMFilm's site, the 3-pack is Replacement Kit and does not appear to contain the LED bank or the jig. However, curious to find out how it goes and you like it. I might hold off installing the WSD I have; although the one I installed on the S22U going back was great for a few days. No FPS problems for my thumbs, nice and slippery; pain in the rear to remove.

Amazon currently has the AmFilm three pack.

The description makes it seem like it is the full kit. The pictures also show a UV lamp, although it isn't the typical AmFilm lamp (looks more like the Whitestone Dome lamp in the picture).

Seller is pretty reputable, Techmatte.

It is retailing on their for $41.99 plus shipping, but there is an $8 coupon plus you can choose the free shipping option.

I installed my third Whitestone Dome screen protector today. Possibly I got two bad ones in my original kit? I'm making sure to clean this one with just a micofiber cloth, and a diluted dish soap/water mix. Still think there is an issue with the quality of glass with these Whitestone Dome S22 Ultra Dome Glass protectors, but I could be wrong. I pay very close attention to these things though as it part of me being a tech nerd.

Interesting. Hopefully, it works for you. I'll be installing my one remaining (our of 2) WSD to my new phone this weekend.

Thank you on the AmFilm purchase.

Installed my third Whitestone Dome protector on my S22 Ultra yesterday, in five weeks. And I'm pretty experienced with the product, using it since my S9+.

Am making sure with this protector to wipe it down only using a microfiber cloth and a diluted dish soap/water solution. Hoping this does the trick with the issues I had with the screen protectors I got in my initial two-pack that both started showing signs of the oleophobic coating failing.

Granted I've never had this issue previously, but my gut tells me these protectors for the S22 line of phones may not be as high of quality as the ones made for the previous generations of phones. Hope I'm wrong about that.

At any rate, between this issue and the shotty customer service Whitestone Dome provides, it was worth giving AmFilm a shot. Based on all of my research they are starting to rival Whitestone Dome as one of the top screen protector companies.

Oh My, that is a mess. I've had them break while removing in the past but still came off in one sheet. Better luck on the next one.

Don't have to worry about pulling the 2nd protector off the new phone if required. It never got it installed thanks to the local deputy who walked into my clean room in the garage. I was always told to place a red light above the door, like for a photo developing room, but never thought it was necessary. Well, on windy, dusty days in Idaho, when that door is opened and the big garage door is already open dust flies in and it happened just as the glue had finished running out of the tube.

Have to admit, it was easy to wash off. Was going to wipe, but with all that dust in the glue didn't feel like a great idea. So, just washed it off with a sink sprayer on very low, and it washed right off.

Checking with Whitestone dome to see if they sell just a protector, glue, etc.

This time I will lock all the doors, and place a sign out front that says, "COPS DO NOT ENTER."
