Whitestone Dome Screen Protector installed S10 plus: First Impressions

I've used these screen protectors for a long while. Installed on my old iPhones and my pixel 3. Always worked perfectly. This has ruined my FPS. Very disappointed.

I installed this protector and it looked and felt amazing. It didn't have any bubbles and I was really impressed.. until the fps quit working after the install. I took it off and tried again, same outcome. I sent an email about it and asked if I could just buy a kit without the UV light because I felt it was probably me, but I didn't need the full kit. They said they'd replace it for me as a one time gesture. I submitted the email to get the replacement and then got an email back after they removed my return from my account (I emailed them to ask why) and told me they fixed a loophole in the warranty service and wouldn't be replacing anything... I offered to pay, then this.. really disappointed in Whitestone.

They will replace it if damaged. Didn't you damage it taking it off?

I wasn't able to reinstall mine since the glue went to the absorbent inserts and swelled up. Lucky whitestone was kind enough to send me a replacement.

I threw the glass in the trash and originally asked for a replacement kit and I wanted to pay. I didn't want them to do anything but sell the base kit that other phones have. They offered to replace it anyway and then said no, I wasn't really happy with that. I was absolutely willing to pay again, but I'll just go without a protector. My S7 was fine for three years, I should be alright.

That's what I said and then two days after I removed my Dome I somehow put a deep scratch in my screen. So mad as I am so careful with my phone. I have no clue how it happened. Be careful. I may try another Dome. My third.

How is the FPS now that you don't have a Whitestone. I suggest maybe get a liquid type screen protector. I have one on my phone and after I put it on I dropped my phone at least two times. It fell out of my pocket when I had sweat pants on when I was standing up I'm 6'2 and it was a pretty scary fall for my phone. It fell on cement but not scratches or breakage fortunately.

Then I had it fall out of my fitness locker. The locker is up high and the floor is tile and it fell to the floor. Again, fortunately no scratch or breakage.

The FPS sensor has worked great with the liquid screen protector. Some people have said it doesn't make any difference from damage and scratches, some people have said it only prevent from scratches and not breakage. All I can say is so far it has worked great for me.

Dropped my phone yesterday.... cracked the Dome right across the FPS. Don't know if the screen would have cracked but glad I had it on. It made the FPS difficult to use so I replaced it.

Did you have a case on it when you dropped it?

Has anyone had any better luck with the screen protector and the FPS update that is currently being pushed out?

The Whitestone worked well for me before the update. Just had to replace it because I cracked it. Came off in one piece including the broken piece. You just start on one corner and work you way around with light lifting pressure.
The replacement works great.

Yes, but when it ended up face down it must have come into contact with a tiny pebble.

Mike, I honestly think that these glass protectors crack easily whether they've actually saved your screen or lightly fallen off my bed onto carpet. I've gone through MANY cheaper ones and purchased different thicknesses where the thicker ones lasted longer but hindered touch sensitivity. These domes aren't any different.......except price. Its the main reason I've stopped buying glass and gone back to the plastic/film type.

First time I've ever broken one on a phone I've dropped. I've done the plastic film thing and they just aren't as smooth and don't offer as much drop protection.

I just ordered another warranty replacement. Ugh! I hope I have better luck. I also need to cover up this big scratch. Give me your best advice for installation. I followed their video exactly but are you doing anything in addition to that?

I did nothing different from the video.

The replacement works great.

If you have a hard time doing that. Applying heat to it also works.

Also the plastic film I know on my other phones it takes away the quality of the picture/screen. The glass ones don't.
