Yep I believe the protector actually helps support the screen underneath... I think you'd need the crease supported as well. I watched Zach from JerryRigEverything tear down the Z Flip 3 and the glass screen is literally paper thin. Once the protector was off, he was able to scratch the ultra thin glass off the flexible backing very easily
