Wow, so iPhone's will be getting some of the features that android phones have had for years. How intriguing. History seems to be repeating itself.
I find all kinda mobile phones are pretty much the same these days. Aside from different manufacturers' gimmicks, all I have to pick are which features are important to me and which has a better design.
So here's what I have summarized when I'm making a choice
iphone
- 99% stable performance
- more premium apps (and reach ios first before android, not exactly important)
- less customization (important to me)
- boring designs both software and hardware (when I buy something I want it completely new. I almost, always switch brands when I upgrade my phones)
- great unifying experience if you have other Mac products (I dont')
- lotsa accessories to choose from (manufacturers and third parties)
- Great product support
- Overall Apple products are all about paying
Galaxy S5
- 95% stable performance
- boring design (worse than Apple and other Android manufacturers imo, especially softwares. Designers have no taste in choosing the right colours palette, in most cases they use too much colour which make the interface extremely childish and too much going on at the same time. No sense of placing buttons and options in menus for better user friendliness too)
- lotsa accessories to choose from (not as much as Apple maybe, but enough)
- allows customization (just like most Android)
- not so great product support (comparing to other Android manufacturers, HTC and Sony are the best so far imo)
I'm looking forward to the Note 4 tho. As a heavy sketching and note taking person, the S-pen plus palm rejection is one thing I could look pass most of the flaws. I used to be all about design and looks but since I got the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 I learnt to like something I find ugly. Functionality>design FTW ;]

I'll be switching back to iPhone. I switched from a iPhone 5S to a Galaxy S4, because of the bigger screen size, at first I was hooked on to Android, and I wouldn't switch back to iPhone, but now after a few months of using Android, I'm gettin frustrated with all the bugs, and system crashes.
Everything i do now with my Android, I can do with iOS 8 + With a third party keyboard.. So I got nothing to lose, but everything to gain!
Lots of comments are that iOS is locked up, and not Customizable. That's what makes it a better OS, and not crashable!!
Then there is Storage space. iPhone has a 64GB iPhone, most Android users don't buy a 64GB phone, cuz they can put in a SD card, but face it. They buy a 16GB Android, and put in a 32GB card... So they dont even get to 64GB. (if you put in a 64GB card, your phone will likely keep on crashing.)
And just say it. iOS 8, is way better in design then any android. Admit it. Even u customize it your own way.
Are they overpriced or just to expensive?I'm sticking with Android.
I'm some one who buys phones off contract, and Apple products are so overpriced. IPhone 6 doesn't really offer me something Android does not provide.

But once you have an android device then you can get an iOS device and enjoy the goodness of both. One must admit that iOS still has the more refined apps but, yes, android is catching up.
The Note III
That right there is the #1 reason I'm not ready to buy an iPhone these days. I'm OK with it on their iPads but it bothers me on phones.big screen or small screen, the iphone will still have it chaotic grid of icons.

I mean Samsung phones off contract are also very expensive... But they're made of plastic and they include tons of software that everyone rushes to uninstall.
Apple phones at least have high end hardware.
Im typing this on my Note 3, which has a fake brushed-aluminum face, fake chrome bezel, and fake leather back. And yet R&D dollars were spent developing S-Voice and S-Health, etc.
I'm sticking with Android.

I will be purchasing a iPhone 6 for suee. The galaxy s5 is too buggy for me. Android has way too many issues and inconsistency problems. I miss how fluid ios is and the polished system.
