I admire the iPhone, iOS 8, and Apple. However, there are 2 android phones right now that have surpassed iPhone in every advantage an iPhone has ever had over android: quality, reliability, performance. Those are the only 3 areas where iPhone had a leg up until now. In other areas like capabilities and features pretty much every android has always bested the iPhone. All Apple really has left now is the ability to enter a physical Apple Store for service.
I'm not going to actually name the two phones in order to fend off the usual responses, but I will name 2 android handset makers that have been on my don't buy list since 2011: Samsung and LG. Their entire business culture seems to revolve around making a "me too" product and doing it on the cheap to save money while adding superficial but poorly done blingy features to get a quick easy buy from people. Just like
Hyundai cars and cheap MMO knockoffs.
The entire impression I get from a Samsung or LG phone reminds me a lot of a Hyundai. It LOOKS as good as a Honda as long as you don't know anything about cars. Except for the inferior drive train, suspension, engine, and overall QC. But hey it's a couple of thousand less, what a deal! It's just a sleazy business culture. I'd actually feel dirty buying one.
