Who has not received a call from Radioshack confirming preorder?

Did my preorder calls yesterday I know a few managers in my area were waiting till later this week when we see what accessories we get.

yes, i didnt get a call, but i went to the store to confirm, that guy r so nice, explain everything, including 15% discount, $20 credit, what they will have for that day, which universal mount he recommended, blah. so cant wait, next friday 0600

I called today and set myself to be first line to be activated...my wife will be second Too bad my store only had 3 pre orders, so they don't open until 9!

i finally got confirmation my store will be opening early, but still no call. yesterday they still claimed to be taking orders so they are behind the news by like a day. i think i should tell them to read these forums.

my radio shack in westport in KC just called and they are doing appointments from 6am on for pre-orders...nice work RS. They seemed really excited for the launch.

Well went in person today and confirmed, did that last week as well. However, with the early opening now being discussed I wanted to verify what time my RS was opening. Well manager, was there, she had done my preorder on 5/14, was happy to see me to tell me that she was going to be there at 7am to open. She insinuated the first 3 hours were going to be the big rush. Also, she confirmed the 15% discount for the 7am appointment. Then to my surprise she pulled out the "dummy" evo for me to look at and hold. I am very impressed with RS and the way they are giving the personal attention.

I just called the store I preordered from and they said they're not opening early and that I didn't need an appointment. I asked how many people pre-ordered there and he said "a lot". Then he was asking someone else there and I could hear them talking. One said 20, one said 5, finally he came back to the phone and told me 10. I may drive by there early on Friday anyway since it's close to my house.

Hey Guys,

I have been perusing the site since the Evo was announced and like all of you, slowly driving myself crazy waiting for the Evo.

I wanted to know how many of you received a call from RS about your preorder and whether they "scheduled" you in for purchasing and activating your Evo.

I have yet to receive any confirmation from RS about scheduling an appointment on launch day, but I know I am guaranteed a phone since there are about 5 within 5-15mile distance from my house, and I preordered the day after RS started receiving preorders.

For RS employees, should I be worried if I have not received a call yet, or is there enough time between now and next friday?

Don't worry, I run a Shack. It's up to the store managers, but most will call early this week. We just found out which stores are opening early and are organizing our pre-order pick ups.

update.. called another store.. this one actually verified that there was indeed a notice stating they have an option to open early.. but said his store is a no.. ended with him saying its up to the DM

I drove by my Radio Shack this evening. They said they were opening at 6, but they said they weren't making appointments. I asked them why not, they said they didn't know, but they said its first come first serve. I asked if the people who have preorder's have any privilege in getting set up first since we don't get appointments, but they said no. I don't think its fair that I'll show up at 6, not be first in line, and then someone that didn't preorder can get theirs before I got mine. Whatever.

I've talked to two separate people, neither one a manager, and they said they aren't opening early. The store is pretty lame usually but they're the closest to my house.
